ق د أ ف ل ح م ن ز ك اه ا He has succeeded who purifies it, و ق د خ اب م ن د س اه ا And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. 91:9-10 A Balanced Life Self Development 15 ربیع الا خر 1439 2.1.18 الدعوة إلى تزكية النفس في القرآن The Qura an emphasizes the role of purification of the souls. There are different patterns for this process in the Qura an. الدعاء األنبياء والرسل ومنها التنويه بأنها غرض البعثة وامتنان بها Purification of the soul is a blessing from Allah. The main goal of all the messengers and prophets was purification of the soul. اذ ه ب إ ل ى ف ر ع و ن إ ن ه ط غ ى "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed ف ق ل ه ل ل ك إ ل ى أ ن ت ز ك ى And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself و أ ه د ي ك إ ل ى ر ب ك ف ت خ ش ى And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" سورة النازعات 79:17-19 The invocations of the messengers and prophets. The way of Allah is that the one who purifies himself is successful, and the one who corrupts himself is a loser. ك م ا أ ر س ل ن ا ف يك م ر س وال م نك م ي ت ل و ع ل ي ك م آي ات ن ا و ي ز ك يك م و ي ع ل م ك م ال ك ت اب و ال ح ك م ة و ي ع ل م ك م م ا ل م ت ك ون وا ت ع ل م ون Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know. سورة البقرة 2:151 دعوة الرسل من قبل Purification of the soul was the da awah of all the messengers through the ages. All of them called the people to purification. This is an important requirement for everyone, not only the pious pole, but also the great sinners like Firawn. و الش م س و ض ح اه ا By the sun and its brightness و ال ق م ر إ ذ ا ت ال ه ا And [by] the moon when it follows it و الن ه ار إ ذ ا ج ال ه ا And [by] the day when it displays it و الل ي ل إ ذ ا ي غ ش اه ا And [by] the night when it covers it و الس م اء و م ا ب ن اه ا And [by] the sky and He who constructed it و األ ر ض و م ا ط ح اه ا And [by] the earth and He who spread it و ن ف س و م ا س و اه ا And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it ف أ ل ه م ه ا ف ج ور ه ا و ت ق و اه ا And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, ق د أ ف ل ح م ن ز ك اه ا He has succeeded who purifies it, و ق د خ اب م ن د س اه ا And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. ك ذ ب ت ث م ود ب ط غ و اه ا Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression, إ ذ انب ع ث أ ش ق اه ا When the most wretched of them was sent forth. ف ق ال ل ه م ر س ول اهلل ن اق ة اهلل و س ق ي اه ا And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink." ف ك ذ ب وه ف ع ق ر وه ا ف د م د م ع ل ي ه م ر ب ه م ب ذ نب ه م ف س و اه ا But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]. و ال ي خ اف ع ق ب اه ا And He does not fear the consequence thereof. سورة الشمس 91:1-15
و م ا ي د ر يك ل ع ل ه ي ز ك ى But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified أ و ي ذ ك ر ف ت نف ع ه الذ ك ر ى Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? سورة عبس 80:3-4 of Judgement. Those who return to Allah, believing in Him, having done righteous good deeds, they will have a high level, and Jannah as their reward. ق ل إ ن م ا أ ن ا ب ش ر م ث ل ك م ي وح ى إ ل ي أ ن م ا إ ل ه ك م إ ل ه و اح د ف اس ت ق يم وا إ ل ي ه و اس ت غ ف ر وه و و ي ل ل ل م ش ر ك ني Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah ال ذ ين ال ي ؤ ت ون الز ك اة و ه م ب اآل خ ر ة ه م ك اف ر ون Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. سورة فصلت 41:6-7 الثناء على أهل تزكية النفوس وا شادة بهم والتنويه بمكانتهم بخالف غيرهم The Qura an also tells us the condition of those who don t purify themselves, on the Day of Judgement. Ibn Abbas said this ayah refers to the purification. The mushrikeen don t give zakat, which will purify their wealth. من يتزكى فإنما ينفع نفسه في الدنيا واآلخرة The one who purifies himself will benefit in dunya and skhlrah. No one will share the burden of another on the Day of Judgement. The one who fears Allah, establishes the prayer, and does righteous good deeds, is doing it for His own benefit. No one else but the person himself will benefit. Purification of the soul is mentioned in the Qura an as praise for those who do it. Someone who comes forward for it must be helped. Allah praises the one who is trying to purify and upgrade himself. و م ن ي أ ت ه م ؤ م ن ا ق د ع م ل الص ال ح ات ف أ ول ئ ك ل ه م الد ر ج ات ال ع ل ى محل أهل التزكية في اآلخرة ومآلهم But whoever comes to Him as a The Qura an tells us about believer having done righteous the position in akhirah of the deeds - for those will be the people who purify highest degrees [in position]: themselves. Allah will recompense them on the Day ج ن ات ع د ن ت ج ر ي م ن ت ح ت ه ا األ ن ه ار خ ال د ين ف يه ا و ذ ل ك ج ز اء م ن ت ز ك ى Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies حال من أغفل التزكية يوم القيامة ومآله himself. سورة طه 20:75-76 Self purification is obligatory. It includes the statements of the shahadah, the tawheed. Without it, the faith is incomplete. و ال ت ز ر و از ر ة و ز ر أ خ ر ى و إ ن ت د ع م ث ق ل ة إ ل ى ح م ل ه ا ال ي ح م ل م ن ه ش ي ء و ل و ك ان ذ ا ق ر ب ى إ ن م ا ت نذ ر ال ذ ين ي خ ش و ن ر ب ه م ب ال غ ي ب و أ ق ام وا الص ال ة و م ن ت ز ك ى ف إ ن م ا ي ت ز ك ى ل ن ف س ه و إ ل ى اهلل امل ص ير And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to Allah is the [final] destination. سورة فاطر 35:18 There is purification which is obligatory, and then there are levels. For the believer, it is obligatory and more, to reach the perfection. The deen is different levels and ranks, and so is the purification. The obligatory worship must be fulfilled, and then there are voluntary forms of worship. The mother of the believers, A'isha رضي اهلل عنها reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, the son of Jud'an established ties of relationship, fed the poor. Would that be of any avail to him? ال ي ن ف ع ه إ ن ه ل م ي ق ل ي و م ا ر ب اغ ف ر ل ي خ ط يئ ت ي ي و م الد ين said: He It would be of no avail to him as he did not ever say: O my Lord, pardon my sins on the Day of Resurrection. صحيح مسلم حديث 214# التوازن الشخصي التغلب على النقد The Personal Balance Overcome Criticism
You cannot flee from criticism, but you can deal with it. There is no escape from it, poled may point fingers at you. This may be because they are envious of you, because your possess something they covet, or some success that you achieved, so this is a good feeling for you. A tree full of fruit will be pelted with stones, so take it positively. There are different kinds of criticism. Constructive criticism. This is positive, and builds goodness in you. The person will talk to you, without any mockery or insults, free of any personal attack. It is generally for improvement. The person may praise you for your success and positive traits. He will gently make you aware of your faults, without exaggerating. He will give the solution to you. Destructive criticism. This is malicious, demolishing your confidence. It may be insulting and vengeful, putting you down. This is because of some sickness in their hearts, such as hatred, or jealousy, or arrogance. There is no good intention behind it, only the attempt to demolish and destruct. طریقة التغلب The way to overcome criticism How can you overcome the criticism? Only you can do it. There are different strategies that you can use. Attack. You may be so offended, that you use their tone to get back at them. This will not lead to goodness. It is not a solution, and will lead to stubbornness and dispute. Ignore. You disregard it completely, don t want to hear it. This can be correct and incorrect. Sometimes the criticism is good, and can lead to some elevation. But if the person criticizing you is stubborn, wanting to hurt you, then the best way to deal with it is to ignore it. Don t react immediately to the criticism, don t be hasty, think, ask for advice, then react. Don t jump into it. Don t attack or ignore immediately, think of your reaction first, analyze it. This is good because you may discover you had made a mistake, so you can rectify it. Find some common and neutral ground. This is the best way. Talk to the person who is criticizing you privately, discuss the situation with him, and try to find the truth. This is wisdom, and this strategy is used by the wise. It is a win-win solution, resulting in a good heart and warm feeling, not enmity and hatred.
