202 CONVOCATION Feb. MID- WINTER CONVOCATION 202 Faith Leadership in A Time of Change About This Year' s Event The church is entering a new era that has been dominated by technological change. Experiences of time space are not what y used to be. Identity meaning are harder to fashion define. And church seems to exercise less less influence in way we see world. How do we articulate gospel message to those seeking God in a time when world is in constant flux? Moreover, how do we lead congregations during such rapid change? Come to think out loud about how to be a bold faithful Christian leader in today' s changing world. Learn about emerging reformation of faith happening in North America. Discuss recent trends in belief practice. Listen to questions that are shaping a largely unnoticed awakening of faith. Through stimulating presentations, practical workshops inspiring worship, this conference will give you concepts skills to navigate untrodden paths of 2st century church so that you can continue to bring people gospel message wherever y may be. Diana Butler Bass Author, Speaker, Independent Scholar ofamerican Religion Culture Diana Butler Bass is an author, speaker independent scholar specializing in American religion culture. She regularly consults with religious organizations, leads conferences for religious leaders, teaches preaches. From 2002 to 2006, she was project director of a Lilly Endowment, Inc. funded study of mainline Protestant vitality. She is author of seven books is a blog writer for" The Huffington Post" Belief.net. Andrew Root Carrie Olson Baalson Chair in Children, Youth Family Ministry s Andrew Root joined Lur Seminary in 2005 as assistant professor of youth family ministry. Previously he was an adjunct professor at Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington D. C., Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, N.J. Root' s ministry experience includes being a gang prevention counselor in Los Angeles, youth outreach director in a congregation, staff member of Young Life, a confirmation teacher. He has also been a research fellow for Princeton Theological Seminary' s Faith Practices Project.
