SHOE BOX TIME AGAIN And we are excited to get started. This is our 14th year of filling she boxes for the unfortunate children in this country & numerous countries over the world. Through Samaritans Purse not only do the children receive shoe boxes filled with good things given by you but they receive Bibles and are given the chance to participate in The Greatest Journey, a 12 week school opportunity to grow in Christ & Faith. All of this is provided by Samaritans Purse, a program run by Franklin Graham. Hundreds of people sort and check the shoe boxes that are then flown by plane to designated locations. This is usually the only gift these kids have ever received, but the excitement & joy can last a life time. Toys, school supplies, balls, sunglasses, dolls, stuffed animals are among the many items for the boxes. Also tooth brushes, soap, wash cloths, etc. Shoe Boxes are due early November to Calvary U.M. Church. The Disciples Class has offered to pay the $9.00 shipping charge for each shoe box brought in by our Calvary Church Family. Disciples Class News On Thursday, October 12th we will again be serving our Drive-thru Chicken Dinners. They will be served from 3:00 to 6:00pm or until sold out. The cost is still $7 a meal and the meal consists of: a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans and a brownie for dessert. TO ORDER: CALL 330-549-2588 No need to get out of your car, just drive in the driveway and someone will bring your meal out to you. Gary Rinker Paul & Mildred McCue Dave Crump LET US PRAY!... Thank you seems rather hollow when trying to express how full my heart is from the many cards I received for the loss of my youngest brother. Your compassion and love filled me to overflowing and you blessed me in a time of despair. God has surrounded me with a loving and caring group of people who not only love one another, but love the world around them. May God continue to bless each of you as we seek to follow Christ every day. Blessings, Pastor Renae JOIN THE CHURCH CHOIR The brilliant Christian psychiatrist, Dr. Walter Menninger, said that singing in a church choir was very helpful to him. After an exhausting day at work, he found it inspirational and soothing to go to choir practice at his church. The music enabled him to put the stress of his day behind him, get in touch with something beautiful and holy, and end the day relaxed and uplifted. Ask a choir member what singing in a choir does for him or her. It s very likely that you ll find he or she gets great joy in serving the Lord through singing. And Remember, also, there is wonderful fellowship among choir members. Singing in a choir is a good way to make new friends. Try it. Our next Choir Practice will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 7:00pm Hope to see you there! To all my Friends at Calvary, Thank you to All for the Prayer Quilt and your Carols,Thoughts, and Prayers. Doing Better Each Day and the 2nd Surgery is November first. Thank you to All! God Bless Dave Dishong Thank You for your kind & warm greeting at church, Sunday, September 17th. And also for the flower center piece.
