Thank you Steve Harshaw and Davis United Methodist Church for being great hosts for first Cross Point Emmaus Board Meeting and Gathering of the New Year! At the Board Meeting we said our See you later to our outgoing board members and our Welcome Aboard! to our newest members. Your 2016 Cross Point Walk To Emmaus Board Karin Nuner Community Lay Director Steve Harshaw Community Spiritual Director/ Sendoff and Candlelight Rep David Woerz Assistant Community Lay Director Travis Singleton Treasurer Lisa Gipson Secretary Teresa Liddell Registrar Joy Douthit Newsletter Candy Sherbert Kitchen/Snack Agape Terri Rider Table Agape David Teeman Prayer Room/Letter Agape Rondy Hunt Setup / Tear Down Daniel Oyler Music Gary Heller Literature/Supplies Bryan Scott 4 th Day Jeff Hiller Gatherings Trainings will begin soon so please continue your prayers for Gary Randolph and Lisa Gipson as they prepare to see what great things God has in store for this set of walks. The walks will be here before we know it! Also be in prayer about those who God is sending as Pilgrims. Remember that our potential Pilgrims need to be ALREADY attending church and ACTIVE in their churches. The Walk to Emmaus main purpose is to STRENGTHEN existing church leadership. That does not mean only the Pastor and staff but all those who volunteer, sing in the choir, Sunday school teachers and those you see giving of their time and talents for God. So please keep praying for those potential pilgrims. Let God put their name on your heart and on your lips and pray for them by name. I look forward to serving with each and every one of these wonderful people and know they will put their all into their area! Karin Nuner, Community Lay Director

Vol XXV1I1 Number 2 Cross Point Emmaus Newsletter February 2016 Page 53 Brothers and Sisters In my final article as a board representative for the CrossPoint Emmaus community I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all those who serve selflessly in the community. Be it by preparing some of that amazing and abundant food, volunteering for walks, helping at your church during gatherings or in any of the gazillion other areas that you may serve in. It has been an honor to serve as a board rep. I was on walk #41 and the Im pact those three days had on my life was eternal. As a result, I have been trying to give back just a portion of what was given to me that weekend. It s been about 14 years since that walk and I have had the privilege of serving in many capacities during that time from the humbling honor of serving as a walk Spiritual Director to the humorous (and often humiliating) position of serving as Bubba for Saturday night entertainment, and literally about everything in between. Somehow all my efforts to give back end up yielding more receiving which drives me to want to continue to give. I don t see an end to that cycle happening anytime soon. So, while my current position of serving will change, I suspect I will just transition into another area of service because this vehicle of God s Agape Love and Amazing Grace just means so much to me. I want to thank my beautiful bride for being a voice of encouragement and having patient understanding when board meetings fell during a significant family event or when unexpected phone calls seemed to come at the most in opportune time. Without your love and support the past five years would not have been as productive and positive as I feel they were. For all you singers and musicians out there please know that your talent is needed and wanted in the Emmaus Community. While the Upper Room guideline limits the size of the music team on the walk it does not limit the size of the music team at gatherings and other Emmaus events. Please share your gift with the CrossPoint Community. The impact of music in ministry dates back into Old Testament times and it is as valuable now as it was then. For those of you who may not be gifted in the area of music I implore you to use what you have to help keep this Emmaus vehicle moving forward. The beauty of this amazing movement is that it, by design, has the perfect place for each of you and your unique ability to serve. Introverts or extraverts, infants in Christ or seasoned theologians, the beauty of Emmaus is that it has never been about your ability, only your desire to serve the One True God in the spirit of cooperation, sacrifice and charity. Thank you again for allowing me to serve you as a board rep for the past five years. It has been an honor and a privilege. 1 Corinthians 10:31 DeColores! -Pastor Brad

So he went in to stay with them. 30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?
