TEACHERS ASK MHT GRADUATES TO EXPLAIN MESSIANIC JUDAISM TO CLASS T hree of our 9th grade graduates came to visit us on the first day of school. All three are in the same school where at least another 25 believers also attend. Since there are so many believing kids in this school, they are hoping to start a morning prayer/praise meeting either before school or during break time. Will they influence the other kids? Unquestionably. In fact, two teachers found out that the girls were believers and asked them if they d be willing to share what it means to be a Messianic Jew with the class in the next few days. Another teacher handed out a form for students to fill out, requesting that they write anything that they felt was important for the teacher to know. When one of the girls wrote she was a Messianic Jew, the teacher also asked if she'd be willing to share what she believes. These girls are anxious to share what they believe. It's wonderful to know that these students are not ashamed to declare their faith openly in Yeshua the Messiah, because after the strong foundation they received at MHT, this seems very natural to them. Just another reason why our school is so vital to these children! In our particular case, after undergoing a financially difficult summer where, right until the end of August, we weren t sure if our teachers would be paid, it became so clear that Satan is terrified of our school and, therefore, doing all he can to shut us down. Why? Because we are the only Messianic entity in Israel which stands to be officially recognized and funded by the government - a major game changer. For the last five years, we have seen miracle after miracle - everything from
Page 2 MHT Terrifies SATAN continued... money coming in not only to pay salaries, but also to make costly renovations, without which we would have never received approval from the Ministry of Health and Safety. We have seen judges totally sympathetic to our cause, and orders to shut down our school set aside. In short, we have seen the hand of God move here. Now, in just 1-2 more years, the vast majority of our teachers will have their teaching certificates, the only thing that prevented us from getting our license as we have met every other criteria. So is it any wonder that Satan is doing all he can to thwart our success? Praise God, for He is always greater than he who is in the world. Finally Home Where I Belong! Testimony by our new Science/Math teacher H aving been one among 16 children in a God wanted me. Volume 6, Issue 2 Page 3 A New Post A new article written by Dr. Richard Curwin entitled, Can Assessment Motivate has been posted on our school website www.makorhatikvah.org. The article deals with improving student motivation and is well worth reading. Here is an excerpt: Students cannot predetermine what score they will get on any given task. However, they can control how hard they try. Practical Ways You Can Help Scholarship Help Needed We have seven families with us who really need help with their tuition payments. Some of these families have multiple children in our school, and we do not ever want to turn away a believing student for lack of funds. The sum needed for the entire year is 94,500 NIS / $27,000. We would be so grateful for any help that can be given to assist these needy families. Upgraded Math Program The great news is that our new math/science teacher will be using Power Point presentations to help students understand the learning concepts. The bad news is that our elementary classrooms don t have projectors. We need to install four projectors as soon as possible so that these computerized lessons can get underway. The cost for each projector is approximately $1,700. Culture Fund Donations to this fund will help fund school holiday activities and transportation for trips. Expected transportation costs based on last year s trips: 20,000 NIS / $5,800 Tax Debt Over the summer months, we fell behind in our taxes, and we still owe a very large debt. Teachers Education Fund Four teachers will continue their studies this year in order to receive teaching certification. The average cost for each teacher per year is approximately: 12,000 NIS / $3,500 Last Two Windows Last windows that need replacing before the next rainy season. Cost: $2,600

Sometimes we have no words to say... the tears are collected in bottles by the Lord our God himself, I know. May the one who watches over Israel, who never slumbers nor sleeps watch over you every day and night. He is the only one who has the ability to sustain. In knowing this, I am thankful. Letter from Our Managing Director I f you are reading this letter, it is very likely that you have already made a commitment to support Makor HaTikvah, because you understand the importance of this school. Just recently, my congregational leader gave a message wherein he stated that, Our reaction to how we relate to Yeshua is very dependent upon our comprehension and understanding of who Yeshua really is. I think that s often true about many things that we hold precious and important in our lives, because our priorities are often a direct result of what we see as critical or worth our full attention. Likewise, those who really catch the significance of this school, understand that its existence must never be in jeopardy, because the stakes are just too high. Whether or not this generation of kids is the one who will usher in the return of Messiah, this generation will, without a doubt, impact Israel s spiritual climate, and when children are solidly grounded in their faith from an early age, it is seen in their character and nature. They ve been given a biblical framework in which to manage their lives. This is a large part of what we do here, and that is why is worth supporting.
