As we finish up April joyful for our first communicants, we are beginning the always busy month of May. But this is a good busy in that it is a time of great celebrations so let me share with you some highlights of the month of May: 1. May 1 st - St. Joseph Galion grade school will come and join the students of St. Joseph Crestline to celebrate Mass at our church (10:30am) for St. Joseph the Worker. It will be great for both schools to come together and celebrate our patron saint. 2. May 3 rd - Holy Hour at Sacred Heart (7pm). Since May is considered the month of Mary, we will honor our Blessed Mother with the rosary and by adoring her Son. This will be the last Holy Hour until September. 3. May 6 th - We will have a retreat for all our Confirmandi from 9am- 1pm at Sacred Heart. Later in the month, the Confirmandi will have rehearsal for their Confirmation after the 6:30pm Mass at St. Joseph on May 18 th This will prepare them for the Confirmation Mass at St. Joseph (6:30pm) on May 24 th with Msgr. William Kubacki presiding. Please keep our Confirmandi in your prayers. 4. May 7 th This will be the Sunday that both parishes will have a lady Crown Mary- The Queen of Heaven and Earth! 5. May 14 th Mother s Day! Don t you dare forget her! 6. May 20 th Transitional Deacon Ordination at the Cathedral in Toledo (11am). I have worked in ministry with all three men in the past- Kyle Gase, Andrew Wellman, and Scott Perry (our former summer seminarian). 7. May 20 th Alumni Event at Sacred Heart from 6pm to 9pm. A great opportunity for food, fun, and fellowship so don t be square and plan to be there! 8. May 24 th Last Day of School for St. Joseph. 9. May 25 th Last Day of School for Sacred Heart. 10. May 27 th Priesthood Ordination at the Cathedral in Toledo (11am)- There is only one man being ordained this year- Anthony Cocci. We went to the seminary together as well as a Bruce Springsteen concert together. 11. May 21 st - Mass followed by 8 th grade Graduation for Sacred Heart. 12. May 29 th - Memorial Day- 8:30 am Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery (weather permitting) and 10:30am Mass at Sacred Heart Cemetery (weather permitting). The Sorrowful Mother Shrine is located at 4106 State Route 269 in Bellevue, Ohio. First Saturday Devotions at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine (4106 State Route 269, 7 miles south of Bellevue). Start hearing Confessions at 10:00 a.m. with Rosary said at 10:35 a.m. Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m. Confessions will continue after Mass if need be. First Saturday Devotions every First Saturday. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $3.00 a person. This event is held in recognition of Older Americans Month, offering entertainment, refreshments, information from sponsors and a chance at many door prizes.
