ST. TERESA of AVILA STUDENT CENTER PAGE 2 1511 Laporte Ave. Valparaiso, IN 46383 Fr. Chris Corner Dear friends in the Lord, As many of you know, this weekend we have the joyous occasion of celebrating Fr. Rich Kozak s 50 th anniversary to the priesthood. He graduated from St. Mary of Lake Seminary in Mundelein, IL in 1967 and shortly after was ordained to the priesthood of Jesus Christ for the Archdiocese of Chicago. I can only imagine the thousands upon thousands of lives he has touched in and through his priestly ministry. Thank you Fr. Rich! The priesthood is such a beautiful vocation in the Church. I am sure that Fr. Rich would agree that if we had a thousand lives to live, we would want to be a priest in every single one of them. It is so amazing to be able to hold simple bread and wine in my hands and, through the words of consecration, have it become the body and blood of Jesus Christ. I am dumbfounded every time I sit with somebody for Reconciliation and speak the words of absolution that forgives their sins. I absolutely love entering into peoples lives at their most joyous as well as some of their darkest moments in life. What a grace to be able to be all things for all people. On May 1, we have been asked to host the Diocese of Gary Andrew Dinner. This dinner is a way for priests from throughout the diocese to bring young men to meet the bishop and consider for themselves whether God might be calling them to a life of priestly service. Just as Andrew brought his brother Simon to Jesus, so must we encourage others by bringing them to Jesus. Please pray for priests; pray for young men discerning the priesthood; and pray that they may all be set on fire for love of Christ. Faithfully Yours in the Lord, Fr. Chris Worship Schedule Monday, May 1 5:15pm Tuesday, May 2 Wednesday, May 3 5:15pm Thursday, May 4 Friday, May 5 12:30pm Saturday, May 6 4:00pm Sunday, May 7 11:00am 9:00pm Wednesday Saturday Ann Postel By: Friday Faith Formation Group Bill McRitchie By: Women s Bible Study Joan Krippin By: Bob & Meg Davidson John Edward Plesha By: Women s Bible Study First Friday Memorial Mass Edward Koday By: Family Byron & Jeanne Dick By: Family Eileen McCartney By: Elizabeth Parks Reconciliation Schedule 6:00-6:30pm 2:30-3:30pm To have courage for whatever comes in life ~everything lies in that.
