Mayor.. Council ( From: Sent: Cc: Kelly Isford-Saxon Monday, September, 207 0:32 AM Phillip Saxon; Jimmy Ho 85 Turner PLace A ga FILE # UtJj) W-v.. nda /3;lW--clOn. I am sending this email as I have been made aware that the Council will be deciding tonight on whether to allow, the above mentioned address, to subdivide their property_ I am taking this opportunity to, as the neighbour to the south of the property (843 Turner Place), to say that we are against this application. Our concerns are as follows: This is zoned a single family neighbourhood. The reason that my neighbours and myself have lived on this street for so long is that we want and have chosen to live in a single family neighbourhood. We believe that the subdivision not only is contrary to the current zoning but also sets a precedence in the area. This type of densification is more appropriate on the other side of llih where it is currently happening. Parking in the cul-de~sac is a premium. This proposal will only aggravate the situation as it stands. The proposal is also asking for relaxation of the front yard setback. This would place the front ofthe these homes over 3"0 in front of the face of my home. They will be able to look directly into my front window. We have a green/park like neighbourhood streetscape. Our front lawns and trees provide the kind of location that we all moved to delta and this street to have.. Not to mention green space is becoming more of a premium today. We are concerned that current building permit regulations and design bylaws do not support the neighbourhood when a potential developer does not follow the rules. We are concerned that illegal suites will be constructed therefore creating 4 residences instead of two. That front yards will be made up of mostly driveway and garages will be used for living space. Most Importantly, trees will be removed and not replaced. I am n6t supportive of a signed petition of people who will not be directly affected by this application having a greater say on what goes on in our neighbourhood. I would hope that we do not follow what is happening in Vancouver where our neighbourhoods are no longer affordable and available to new families wanting to make a start in our community because development of this nature has r.aised the costs. I do not believe that I live in a $lmillion neighbourhood. I can not stress how important'this wave of development will impact not only my quality of life but also my neighbours in our cul-de-sac and we urge you not to support this type of development in my neighbourhood...&jut-.-0 r 0); Kelly {ord~sax-on TYPE: e.. ~.--,. -,:""u ON TABLE DEPT: _ C{J -\- t) AT #:= 22::20.. c o~ments:sr..f~r\\ (\ l ~ v \ G'..( rnj-tfl'tj

Mayor. Council A genda 3;lro ~ FILE # WOO7f3?f2,~, ( ) From: Rick Riggs. Sent: Monday, September, 207:35 PM Cc: Turner Place Voice ON TABLe Hello, I'd like to have my thoughts anp comments shared before tonight meeting regarding the application for Turner Place. My family and I have lived in this CuI de Sac for 28 years and have enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood for just as long. I have witness the mess that Surrey and other municipalities have created and I truly hope you can see your way not to let the same happen in our small community. I'm not against new homes or large homes. However, I am not in support of cramming two homes into one family size lot. Our main concern is the parking... you just have to drive down 7th and see the stream of vehicles park on the road. Although the two proposed homes both have plans to build a single car garage, most of us know that these garages will never see the head light of a vehicle. Please do not allow the builders greed for profit to destroy our lovely neighborhood. : Rick Riggs Long Time Happy Resident 854 Turner Place North Delta, BC V4C 4P3
