Dear Parishioners, P a s t o r s C o r n e r During these 40 days, we are called to devote ourselves to prayers, fasting, and almsgiving, so as to listen more intently to the Word of God within us and among us. To help us deepen our spiritual lives, you are invited to take home, The Little Black Book, from a basket at the doors. The book provides a scripture passage and daily reflection opportunity for us to find 10 minutes a day or quiet time in the midst of our busy and active lives. Other opportunities during Lent to consider, beyond keeping Holy the Lord s Day: 1. Daily Mass at 8 am and Family Mass on Tuesday Evenings at 7 pm 2. Quiet Adoration Time on Tuesdays, throughout the day. 3. Extra opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent on Tuesday 6:00 to 6:45 pm. 4. Parish Stations of the Cross Friday evenings at 7:00 pm. 5. 6 Wednesday Evening Scripture Study nights on the Person of Jesus (see the ad). 6. Sign up and participate in the Living Stations provided on Good Friday. 7. Participate in Aid For Friends by donating meals to the homebound. The freezer is located in the room at the end of the restroom hallway in church. For more details contact the parish office. 8. Join our Lenten Retreat: Be the Best you Can Be Just BE! On March 25 from 9 am -2 pm. 9. Sign up to host homeless families during our host week for Family Promise March 26-April 2. For more information contact the parish office. May the Lord Bless us and our families during this Holy Season of Lent. Peace in Christ, Father Mike Communion Calls If you, a neighbor or a loved one is homebound and cannot make Mass, please reach out to the Parish Office to arrange delivery of Communion and/or necessary sick call. Please call us at 610-932-5040 and we can make arrangements for you to receive the Blessed Sacrament. 2018 Mass Book Opening and Donut Social Sunday, March 12th, 2017 Come celebrate the opening of our 2018 Mass book with some coffee, donuts and fellowship. Parish staff will be on hand to assist you with your requests for Mass Intentions after all the Masses that day. When the 2018 Mass book opens, only 4 Masses may be requested by a family at that time. This gives all families an opportunity to honor their loved ones. No more than 2 Masses may be for the Saturday Vigil/Sunday Masses. You may have 4 weekday Masses if you do not request a Vigil or Sunday Mass. Mass requests for any dates will be filled as available. After March 12th, Mass requests can be made during office hours in our Parish Office 8:30-2pm, or at the desk in the narthex after all Masses. **At this time, we will not be taking Intention requests for Holidays or Holy Days until the Mass schedules are established. 0132 Sacred Heart Parish Sunday, March 5, 2017

Sacred Heart Lenten Retreat: Be the Best You Can Be Just BE LEAVE YOUR CROSS ON THE CROSS You re invited to join fellow parishioners during Lent in nailing petitions to the cross in our Narthex. Use a piece of the provided paper to write a prayer, your cross, or a burden that you have, fold it and pin it to the cross. Remember to keep these petitions, both our own and those of others, in our prayers this Lenten Season. All the petitions on the cross will be burned in the fire before Easter Vigil Mass on April 15th. Eucharistic Adoration Lent After the Last Supper, Jesus went with His friends to the Garden of Gethsemani and there He asked them, Could you not watch one hour with me? (Mt 26: 40). This is the same invitation that Jesus asks us. So, instead of giving up treats this Lent, why not consider spending some personal, quiet time with Our Lord Jesus Christ. He is always waiting for you and speaks to you in the silence. Eucharistic Adoration is open to all and is held every Tuesday from 8 am to 7 pm. Nothing is needed to do this but an open heart to Jesus Christ. You may come at anytime and stay for any length of time. However, If you are interested in becoming an adorer, or would like to know more about Eucharistic Adoration, you may contact Joann Di Liberto at 610 932 8962 or you may leave your contact information in the steel box in the Narthex, next to the Status of the Sacred Heart, and Joann will contact you. Presently, we are in need of an adorer for 1 pm. Living Stations of the Cross Sacred Heart Youth Ministry is looking for students from the Parish ages 5th through 12th grade, to help with its production of the Living Stations of the Cross. We are in need of readers, actors, singers, and musicians. We rehearse on Thursdays during Lent from 7:00 8:00pm in the church, and our performance takes place on Good Friday, April 14th. Rehearsals will begin on Thursday, March 2nd. Please consider joining us! It is a wonderful experience, it is prayerful and reverent, and it is meaningful Lenten sacrifice. We also have a lot of fun! If you have any questions, please contact Amy Murphy at 610-345-0428 or murphydna@verizon.net
