Page 2 Service Project Mission-Aider The Holston Valley Baptist Association is partnering with Appalachian Service Project of Johnson City to assist a lady who lost her home in the Gatlinburg fire. She has purchased property in Hancock County and is currently living in a yard barn and getting all of her water from a nearby stream. Materials to build her a home will be provided by ASP. HVBA will be providing all the labor. However, she desperately needs a well to be built on her property and the grant money donated to cover the cost of materials does not cover the installation of a well which will cost $4,000.00. The well must be fully installed before construction can begin on her home. For a living, this lady makes and sells crafts at markets and shows. She owns a Chevrolet Tahoe that she uses to travel to shows. Her vehicle also serves as a camper when she is at a craft show. It is, however, worn and she is in need of a new one. She needs a similarly sized vehicle to replace the one she has because in addition to traveling and camping in it, she uses it to haul water to her home. If you or your church would like to donate toward the cost of the well or vehicle, you may send a check to HVBA at 207 Hawkins Street, Rogersville, TN and put Hancock County Well/Car on the memo line. DEACON CONFERENCE Saturday, April 28, 2018 Church Hill First Baptist Church There will be a Deacons Conference on Saturday, April 28th at Church Hill First Baptist. The theme will be Pastors and Deacons as Ministry Partners. The breakout sessions will include the following: Deacon Family Ministry Speakers Gary Gerhardt and Lynn Parker Basic Training for New Deacons Speaker Bill Choate Pastor/Deacon Relationships Speaker Steve Holt More information will be listed in next month's newsletter and on the Holston Valley Baptist Association Facebook page as it becomes available.

Volume 134 Issue 7 Page 3 Hawkins County Pregnancy HELP Center Update by Kelly Snodgrass I would like to thank every church and every individual that participated in the Baby Bottle fundraiser. We had incredible participation this year and are still collecting bottles. To date, a little over $8500 has been given to the Pregnancy Center through the baby bottle fundraiser. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the HVBA Churches. Thank you all so much! The Promise Class in February was held at East Rogersville Baptist Church. The Promise moms joined forces with the Bible journaling group that meets on Monday nights. The ladies really enjoyed the devotional lesson on Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward. The journaling was a new experience for most of the ladies and they loved it. After the devotion, the ladies made a visual of the verse that they could insert into their Bible. It is a great way to memorize Scripture. The March Promise Class will be at Henard s Chapel. Since January, there have been 8 new clients sign up at the Pregnancy Center and approximately 65 moms visit with their children. Please pray for the women and children that visit the Center. I also ask that you pray for Taylin Fender. Taylin is the 6-year-old daughter of Jessica Fender who participates as a Promise Mom. Taylin has had a reaction to something that is still undetermined (possibly antibiotics) and has TENS syndrome. This affects the skin and is treated like second degree burns. Currently she is being treated in the burn center at Vanderbilt Children s Hospital. Please pray for this family, they have been told they will be there a month. Again, I am so thankful for the HVBA Churches and their support of the Hawkins County Pregnancy Help Center. Together we are stronger!!
