Merits of This is a Meccan sūrah. The surah that admonishes the first recipients of the Quran, the Meccan tribe of Quraysh, to give thanks to the One God alone who had long bequeathed to them, in their desert surroundings, abundant provision and security. It takes its name from verse 1, which mentions the Quraysh, the tribe to which the Prophet Muḥammad (s.a.w.) belonged. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said that the one who recites this surah will get the reward of ten times the number of people performing Tawaaf and I tekaaf. The recitation of Sūrat al-fil and al-quraysh in the compulsory prayers carries great reward. If this surah is recited on food, its ill effects are removed. Those with heart conditions should recite this surah and then gently blow into some drinking water and drink it. If a poor person recites this surah before sunrise, Allah (s.w.t.) will make it easy for him to get his sustenance.

ل ي ل ف ق ر ي ش ١ [In gratitude] for solidarity among the Quraysh, قریش کے اهس و الفت کی خاطر ककतन ह क र श क ऱग ए और परच ए रखन, li-ˈīlāfi qurayšin
ة الص إ ي ل ف ه م ر ح ل ت اء و الص ي ف ٢ their solidarity during winter and summer journeys, جو اهہیں سردی اور گرمی کے سفرسے ےہ ابرہہ کو ہ لک کردیا ےہ ऱग ए और परच ए रखन उन ह ज ड और गम क य त र स ˈīlāfihim riḥlata š-šitāˈi wa-ṣ-ṣayfi
ت ٣ ي ع ب ال ب ي ه ذ ا د وا ر ب ف ل let them worship the Lord of this House, لہذا اهہیں چاہےئ کہ اس گھر کے مالک کی عبادت کریں अत उन ह च हहए कक इस घर (क ब ) क रब क बन दग कर, fa-l-yaʿbudū rabba hāḏā l-bayti
ف ٤ ع م ه ال ذ ي ا ط م و ه م م ن ج وع و ا ن خ و م م who has fed them [and saved them] from hunger, and secured them from fear. هے جس اهہیں بھوک میں سیر کیا ےہ اور خوف سے محفوظ بوایا ےہ जजसन उन ह खखऱ कर भ ख स बच य और ननजचचन तत प रद न करक भय स बच य allaḏī ˈaṭʿamahum min ǧūʿin wa-ˈāmanahum min ḫawfin
