Merits of This is a meccan sūrah. The surah that opens with the oath of the Divine One swearing by the The Morning Brightness and the night when all falls still. It is named after the morning brightness (ḍūḥā), mentioned in verse 1. The surah is an address to Prophet Muḥammad (s.a.w), to reassure him, when he had not received revelation for some time, that his Lord had not forsaken him. It is narrated from the holy Prophet (s.a.w.) that Allah (s.w.t.) is pleased with person who recites this surah. If recited together with name of a person who has gone missing, he will return home safe and sound. If something is forgotten somewhere by mistake, the recitation of this surah keeps its safe until you get it back.

ب س م الل ه الر ح الر ح ي م ن م In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. عظیم اور دائمی رحمجوں هام سے کے والے خدا अल ऱ ह क न म स ज बड क ऩ ऱ और अत यन त दय व न ह bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi
و الض ح ى ١ By the morning brightness, قسم ےہ ایک پہر چڑھے دن کی स ह चढ त ददन, wa-ḍ-ḍuḥā
ل إ ذ ا و الل ي س ج ى ٢ by the night when it is calm! اور قسم ےہ رات کی جب وہ چیزوں کی پردہ پوشی کرے और र त जबकक उसक सन न ट छ ज ए wa-l-layli ˈiḏā saǧā
م ا و د ع ك ر ب ك و م ا ٣ ى ق ل Your Lord has neither forsaken you nor is He displeased with you, ثمہارے پروردگار هے هہ ثم کو چھو ڑ ےہا ثم سے هہ اور هاراض ہوا ےہ त म ह र रब न त म ह न त ववद ककय और न वह ब ज र (अप रसन न) ह आ mā waddaʿaka rabbuka wa-mā qalā
٤ ي ر و ل ل خ ر ة خ ل ك م ن ى ول ا ل and the Hereafter shall be better for you than the world. ا خرت اور ثمہارے لےئ دهیا سے زیادہ کہیں بہجر ےہ और ननश चय ह ब द म आन व ऱ (अवधध) त म ह र लऱए ऩहऱ व ऱ स उत तम ह wa-la-l-ˈāḫiratu ḫayrun laka mina l-ˈūlā
و ل س و ف ي ع ط يك ر ب ك ف ج ر ض ى ٥ Soon your Lord will give you [that with which] you will be pleased. اور عوقریب ثمہارا پروردگار ثمہیں اس قدر عطا کردے گا کہ خوش ہوجاؤ और श घ र ह त म ह र रब त म ह प रद न कर ग कक त म प रसन न ह ज ओग wa-la-sawfa yuʿṭīka rabbuka fa-tarḍā
ا ل م ي ج د ك ي ج يم ا ف ا و ى ٦ Did He not find you an orphan, and shelter you? پاکر یجیم ثم کو هے اس کیا پواہ هہیں دی ےہ क य ऐस नह कक उसन त म ह अन थ ऩ य त द क न ददय? ˈa-lam yaǧidka yatīman fa-ˈāwā
و و ج د ك ض ف ه ا ا ل د ى ٧ Did He not find you astray, and guide you? گم ثم کو کیا اور گشجہ پاکر موزل هہیں ثک پہوچایا ےہ और त म ह म गग स अऩररधचत ऩ य त म गग ददख य? wa-waǧadaka ḍāllan fa-hadā
و و ج د ك ع ٨ ف ا غ و ى ائ ل Did He not find you needy, and enrich you? اور ثم کو ثوگ دست پاکر غوی هہیں بوایا ےہ और त म ह ननधगन ऩ य त सम द ध कर ददय? wa-waǧadaka ʿāˈilan fa-ˈaġnā
٩ ف ا م ا ال ي ج يم فل ه ر ث ق So, as for the orphan, do not oppress him; کرها هہ پر قہر یجیم اب ثم لہذا अत ज अन थ ह उस मत दब न, fa-ˈammā l-yatīma fa-lā taqhar
١٠ و ا م ا الس ائ ل ث و ه ر ف ل and as for the beggar, do not chide him; اور سائل کوجھڑک مت دیوا और ज म गत ह उस न झझझकन, wa-ˈammā s-sāˈila fa-lā tanhar
و ا م ا ب و ع م ة ر ب ك ف ح د ث ١١ and as for your Lord s blessing, proclaim it! اپےن اور پروردگار کی هعمجوں کو بیان برابر کر ثے رہوا और ज त म ह रब क अन कम ऩ ह, उस बय न करत रह wa-ˈammā bi-niʿmati rabbika fa-ḥaddiṯ
