9 B b 9 Eb / A b ma7 B b add9 U Composer Notes This is the psalm for Passion Sunday for all three years of the liturgical cycle I ve used this piece for the past ten years in to different parishes and it has also been making the rounds locally The recording from album Journey to You has a full arrangement ith harp and timpani, hile this printed version is a bit simpler The printed octavo does have an added verse and a soprano descant for the refrain that as not on the original recording The choral arrangement also varies a little from the recording The verses should be sung in an almost recitative style, using a lot of rubato; another possibility is to play the accompaniment only on the donbeats On the final refrain, start out at forte and then pull back to piano for the last repeated refrain You might also have the choir sing a cappella on the repeat or use accompaniment only on the donbeats, and then have full accompaniment oin back in, still at a loer dynamic level, for the final instrumental measures As e sing this psalm for Passion Sunday, may e truly enter into hat it means to be united ith Christ in his death and suffering and also united ith him in praise of our od ho is faithful to us all May e surrender ourselves to both the cross and the glory Parts for Oboe, Violin and Cello are available online (edition 70610-Z3) Please visit ocporg rit g U Paul Hillebrand
