Page 1 of 5 Subject: Select List for the posts of Lecturer 10+2(Commerce) in School Education Department Notification No. 19 PSC (DR-S) of 2017 Dated: 18.04.2017 Whereas, the School Education Department referred 17 posts (OM: 10, RBA: 04, SC: 01, ST: 02) of Lecturers in the discipline of Commerce to the Public Service Commission for being filled up from amongst the suitable candidates; and whereas, the Commission notified these posts vide Notification No. 09-PSC (DR-P) of 2016 dated 19.03.2016; and whereas, in response to the above notification, 2986 applications were received; and whereas, the written test of the candidates for selection was conducted on 26.06.2016 and 2468 candidates appeared in the written test. The result of the written test was declared vide Notification No. PSC/Exam/2017/18 dated: 02.04.2017 in pursuance of Rule 32(a) of the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examinations) Rules, 2005 and Rule 40 of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time and 60 candidates were declared to have qualified the written test and called for interview; and whereas, the interview of the shortlisted candidates was conducted on 17.04.2017 with the assistance of experts from outside the state. Now,therefore, on the basis of the performance in the interview coupled with the weight-age accorded to the marks secured in written test in pursuance of Rule 51 of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time and other related parameters, the Merit of the candidates who have appeared in the interview is enclosed as Annexure- A to this Notification. Consequent upon the above, the select list of the candidates against the available posts is given in Annexure-B to this Notification. Further the marks obtained by the candidates who appeared in the written examination on 26.06.2017 are given in Annexure-C to this notification for information of the candidates.

The Select List is purely provisional and is subject to the outcome of writ petitions pending before any competent Court of law.
