We are taking each phrase and trying to understand it a bit more. As I said in my sermon last Su day, the Lord s Prayer is ell k o a d is easily memorized. When we pray it silently or out loud, we ofte ti es do t thi k a out hat e are prayi g. The disciples of Jesus only knew about praying from the Pharisees. Their prayers were self-serving and filled with self-righteousness. They were long prayers and when they prayed, they prayed loudly for all to hear. It was as if the Pharisees were showing off to others around them with their prayers. Jesus changed that scene. He would go off by himself for hours praying silently and listening to God. This humility intrigued the disciples and they too wanted to learn how to pray. Jesus taught them, what we know as the Lord s Prayer. I invite you this Le t, to take ti e to pray the Lords Prayer ea h day. But do t pray it like you are tryi g to just get through it. Rather, pray it intentionally and slowly reflecting on the words that you are praying. Blessings to you this Lent, Pastor Ty

The Stitzer Park Project Inc. began way back in 2001 when Pastor Barb Cook was on our three point charge. After the church board initiated a community study of what people most wanted in our village of Stitzer improvements at the park was the overwhelming request. Formed shortly after, our small core group of volunteers known as the Stitzer Park Project Inc. began fundraising for the many improvements we see at our park today. One of the most popular events is our Trivia Contest held each April. Teams of 8 compete in rounds of trivia questions covering eight different categories following a sandwich supper. As this committee has its roots in the church how about creating a little church competition this year with a team from each of our three churches? Entry fee is $80 per team with supper available at 5:30pm and games beginning at 7p. Let s support this orthy ause ith a little frie dly o petitio and a fun night out! Contact Rhonda Hughey at 778-8415 to register your team.
