DAILY PRAYER GUIDE BASED ON THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS OF INFLUENCE (Dick Eastman, 2012) 1. GOVERNMENT (State, National and International) Thank God for the swearing in of the remaining 13 ministers and 23 deputy ministers, making a total of 28 ministers and 23 deputy ministers in the cabinet of Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Pray that they will be humble, having a listening ear to hear and learn from the ministry officials to know the scope and depth of each of their duty and responsibility, that they are to serve the people and not lord over them. Pray for Tun Dr. Mahatir Mohamad for the Lord s strength, mental alertness and godly wisdom to serve as the Prime Minister of the new Malaysia. Pray that the cabinet ministers together with the Prime Minister will work in unity as a team to carry out all the necessary reforms to make Malaysia once again peaceful, prosperous and well-respected nation to the world. 2. RELIGION (The Church and her ministries) A) One-Day Seminar with Pastor Bill Wilson Pray for more members, especially parents with young children to hear from Pastor Bill Wilson how to be equipped and empowered to make a difference to their children, families and others. Pray for journey mercy and protection of Pastor Bill Wilson and the Lord s anointing on his teaching and sharing. B) Pray for Methodist Prayer Convention (MPC) 2018, Sibu, Sarawak, 31 August 2 September 2018. Pray for more Methodists from all the Annual Conferences to register and attend. Pray for the local Organizing Committee to prepare and see to all the details so that the entire Convention will run smoothly. Pray for the two speakers: Bishop Chen Chien Chung, Taiwan and Rev. SERMON OUTLINE C.A.N.A. (CLEAR ACCURATE NATURAL AND ACCEPTABLE) SCRIPTURES 2 TIMOTHY 3:14-17 Introduction How did Timothy learn about these things? Timothy knew those from whom he learnt it How did he become convinced of it? from infancy Timothy had known the holy Scriptures What does the Holy Scriptures do? Make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. How are the Scriptures able to do that? All Scripture is God-breathed. What is the purpose? It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. Why is it important? So you may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. This, therefore, is the end goal for Scriptures: - be saved and have faith in Jesus Christ - be equipped for every good work => Transformed lives Two ways one learns the Good News 1. Others have shared it with us, and 2. Our own study of Scriptures. What if - no one shares it with us - no Scriptures for us to study? Bible Translation Language can be ambiguous because meaning is always filtered through our culture, experience and worldview. The goal of Bible Transation is C.A.N.A (C, A, N and A.) Conclusion:
