S. Bach st. denio 2 We gather in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Confession and Forgiveness Eternal God, Creator of all that is, in you we live and move and have our being. You have placed us on earth and sustained our physical being through the produce of the land and the cleanness of the air we breathe. You have created us to tend and care for the weak, and to ensure a just sharing of the earth s resources. But too often we put our own self-interest first, take the earth s resources for granted, and neglect to care for the whole creation as we ought. Free us from any greed or self-centeredness that will separate us from you and from others. Incarnate God, you know us in our inner being. In your grace you offer us forgiveness even before we have the chance to articulate sinfulness. You embrace us in our sin and give us the chance to start again. May we learn from the example of Jesus, who chose the way of the Cross that all might know the depth of your love for all that you have made. Spirit of God, open our hearts and minds that we may grasp your forgiveness, and once forgiven, seek to forgive others and to live a life of reconciling love in the name and power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. Prayer of the Day Almighty and everlasting God, you made the universe with all its marvelous order and beauty, its atoms, worlds, and galaxies, and the infinite complexity of living creatures. Gracious Lord, you are the artist of creation and the bearer of life; give us the wisdom and understanding to care for the Earth. Grant that as we see and experience all the blessings and mysteries of your creation, we may come to know you more truly, and more surely fulfill our role in your eternal purpose. In your holy name we pray. Amen Anthem 9:00 Halle, Halle, Halle arr. Marty Haugen Senior High Choir 10:30 Jesus in the Morning; Jesus Loves the Little Children; Joy, Joy, Joy! Lesson 1 Timothy 12:1-7 I am grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because he judged me faithful and appointed me to his service, even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a man of violence. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the foremost. But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. Hymn Christ the Lord Is Risen Today! orientis partibus Children are invited to come forward during the hymn. Children s Sermon Children return to their places with families during the hymn. Psalm 148:1-4 Read in unison Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his host! Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Anthem I Love You/What a Wonderful World Craig Hella Johnson St. Andrew s Choir Gospel Luke 5:1-11 Glory to you, O Lord. Once while Jesus was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he saw two boats there at the shore of the lake; the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch. Simon answered, Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets. When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets were beginning to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus knees, saying, Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man! For he and all who were with him were amazed at the catch of fish that they had taken; and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people. Praise to you, O Christ. Anthem 10:30 This Is My Father s World arr. Charles Forsberg New Dimension Singers 5

Sacrament of Holy Baptism 10:30 Clara Grace Anderson Daughter of Tamara and Eric Anderson Peyton Jean Brown Daughter of Breanna and Nicholas Brown Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
