EASTER everything Welcome - We re glad you re here Easter Sunday March 27, 2016 520 Medford Lakes Road Tabernacle, New Jersey 08088 609-268-8383 ~ www.holyeucharist.org

Page 2 A NOTE FROM FATHER ANDREW Dear Parish Family: Peter was unique in his response to the news of Jesus resurrection. The other apostles disregarded the reports from the women who had seen the empty tomb because their story seemed like nonsense. But Peter took action. He got up and ran to see the evidence and went home amazed at what had happened. On this Easter day, we have a choice to make. We too have heard a remarkable report. We have been told that two thousand years ago, a man named Jesus defeated death and rose from the grave. To many people in today s world, this sounds like nonsense, just like it did when it first happened. Some try to spiritualize the miracle, suggesting that it is a story that is meant to symbolize the power of God, but whether Jesus actually rose from the dead is irrelevant. But it was not the crucifixion that brought confidence to the early followers of Christ; it was the Resurrection. This momentous event has always made all the difference! We will only water down our faith if we reduce Easter to anything other than a true miracle. This Easter, may we experience the great joy of new life in the risen Christ. Remember Easter Changes Everything! Have a wonderful week, I am looking forward to seeing you next weekend. Fr. Andrew Holy Rosary is said every Sunday morning at 8 am just before the beginning of the 8:30 Mass. Page 3 W ELCOME TO OUR EASTER CELEBRATION We as a parish community welcome you and, perhaps, in a sense, have been waiting for you! Whether a first time visitor or long time member, we believe that every person who comes into this special community of faith has the power to reveal God's presence. We most sincerely hope that you will find God's presence among the many people who are part of this community. Above all else, we are glad you are here and we are excited to share with you the marvelous ways in which God is working in our parish. It won't take long for you to discover that this is truly a family. Growing and journeying together, we worship, we serve, we laugh, we cry, we learn and we reach out to our world. If you are looking for a community to pray with, journey with, search with, and serve with, we say again - Welcome to Holy Eucharist! We love being part of a great faith community and every weekend we come together to experience vibrant liturgies, beautiful seasonal environments, exceptional messages and inspiring music. What to expect A Mass schedule with times convenient for your busy schedules: Saturday 5:00pm, Sunday 8:30am, 10:30am or 6:00pm A welcome center where you can find information on our parish, register for our many activities, or just be welcomed by a friendly face. Introduce yourself! We even give tours!! Our Café offers a fresh cup of coffee and light refreshments after Mass a place to gather, meet others from our faith community, and explore the many events happening in our parish. Outstanding children s programs! Early Childhood ministries help young children live, pray and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Offered each week Saturday 5:00 pm, Sunday 8:30 am and 10:30 am masses - There s Young Believers ( grades 1-3) and Faith Explorers ( grades 4-6) where children have the opportunity to hear the Liturgy of the Word (readings and homily) at an age appropriate level during Mass. - At Kidzone, we offer worship for kids ages 6 months 5 years old. We gather for the duration of Mass and provide your child with a warm environment for him/her to play, connect with other children in our faith community and worship through songs and bible stories. Innovative Family Faith Formation program our monthly weekend LIFT! program creates opportunities for families to learn how to pray together, grow as disciples and help families develop spiritual habits that will lead them into a deeper relationship with Christ. http://holyeucharist.org/#/kidsyouth/family-faith-formation Enjoy the wonder that is THE WEEKEND!

The Church looks to the young; or rather the Church in a special way sees herself in the young." Pope Saint John Paul II With great joy we welcome our young families to Church of the Holy Eucharist! Whether your family is new to the community, returning, or just starting formal religious education, we welcome you to our programs. They are designed not to replace, but rather support the Catholic faith already being lived in your home. As parents, you are the first and foremost catechists of your children. The goal of all catechesis is to lead us to a deeper connection to Christ and His Church thus living out more fully our Catholic Christian faith. We seek to accomplish this through our programs using scripture, stories, activities, service and the interactions between peers and adults. Our monthly Family Faith Formation program, LIFT!, offers families the opportunity to pray together, grow as disciples and develop spiritual habits that will lead to a deeper relationship with Christ. It is a family experience we accommodate the entire family in each monthly session - we have child care for infants, an experiential program for parents and children in levels 1-8, and the opportunity for high school students to assist as volunteers in the program. It is a weekend experience - with the Mass at the center of our faith formation, we come together for an authentic worship experience, a deeper understanding and family with God's Word and exploration of our faith. It's a continuing experience at home with guided lessons and activities to enrich your home faith journey throughout the month. Registration for 2016-17 begins in June. For more information, visit http://holyeucharist.org/#/kidsyouth/family-faith-formation. Questions? Contact Donna Remaley at dremaley@holyeucharist.org or 609 268 8383 ext 106 Beginning with Easter, Father Andrew introduces a new message series called 180 In a message series, a thought provoking and engaging theme runs through a number of homilies that also speaks to the Sunday readings. For the next five weeks, the message will center on the theme that Jesus came to restore and transform human beings and in changing individual hearts, transform the world. In Christ, we are new creations and so if we stay connected to Christ we will experience life change. In this series we will look at some of the change we can expect to experience. Join us! We thank all those involved in ministry at Holy Eucharist. You are the heart and pulse of our parish. If you are not engaged in ministry, browse our ministry brochure available at the welcome center or online at http://holyeucharist.org/#/ministry for the many ways that you can move from a member of our parish to a minister. Once you start to understand how much God loves you, you ll definitely want other people to experience it too! Our ministries do two things: they show God our love for him and they create an environment where others can experience his love. If you would like, try out a ministry before committing. Find out what it's all about. We welcome you - you are an integral part of making disciples at Holy Eucharist!
