Family Life Group Please join the Hilltop Family Life group on Saturday March 23 rd at 4pm at the new Butterfly Biosphere located at Thanksgiving point. The Biosphere is a timed exhibit so you must reserve your time on the Thanksgiving Point website. The admission is free for members. The Owen and Wilden families are both members and can get up to 10 people each in for half off ($10 for adults, $7.50 for 12 and younger, 3 and under are free). Blood Drive On Friday, March 22nd from noon to 5:00 pm we ll roll up our sleeves and help save lives! We will proudly partner with the American Red Cross to hold our first blood drive of the year. Contact Betty Brown 801-571-1004. Children s Ministries Seeking Donations Children s Ministries is seeking donations to assist with our Easter activities. Easter flowers such as lilies are needed to decorate the cross in the Narthex on Easter morning. Individually wrapped candy no nuts please - are needed to fill goodie bags for the children at the Easter Egg Hunt. All donations may be left in the basket in the Fellowship Hall. Donations are needed by April 7th. Child Care Staff Person Needed We are in need of a child care worker for Thursday evenings, 7:15 9:45 pm beginning March 28. The position will continue through May 30. There is a possibility of the position being available for the 2019-20 choir season. Hilltop Christian School s Blooming Bash Hilltop Christian School will hold their annual fundraiser on Friday, April 26 from 6:00-10:00 pm at the River Oaks Golf Course. Crossroads Urban Center Foods of the month for March are chili, canned pasta. Thrift store items of the month are blankets. Please leave your donations in the black bins in the hallway near the kitchen. Crossroads Thrift Store Donations A few actions on your part would be helpful: 1) if you have a carload of stuff to donate, please go ahead and drive it down to store and unload it there. 1385 W Indiana Ave, SLC. If it s a few items, feel free to leave them at the church. 2) Please bag the donations that you re going to put in the bins. Thank you! Nametags Wearing our nametags helps all of us get to know each other better. If you have a nametag, please wear it during worship and fellowship. If you don t have one, we will be happy to provide one for you. Please get a note to the office to order you one. Order Chancel Flowers Honor a loved one, celebrate a special occasion, or show appreciation with a flower arrangement for the chancel. Arrangements are $15 and can be ordered by signing the book on the north table in Fellowship Hall. Make checks payable to Hilltop UMC and write flowers in the memo line. You may take your flowers following the 10:30 worship service. Inspiring Donations Every time you shop at Smith s, the grocery will put aside funds for Hilltop missions. But not if you haven t gone online to register that you want Hilltop to be your charity. HUMC s organization number is 75252. Please register HUMC to receive this little bonus; it s very easy. 10

Paper Recycling Bin The paper recycling bin benefits our Troop 411. Gift wrap and fancy cards are not recyclable so please don t discard any into the bin. Don t throw any other recyclables other than paper in the bin. Please break down your boxes so more can fit in. Keep the lid down so the contents stay dry. Hilltop Children's Choir Hilltop Children's Choir rehearsals have begun! Children in grades 1-5 are always welcome to join us for fun, hands-on rehearsals on Thursday evenings, 6:15-7:00pm. We incorporate percussion, Orff, handchimes, and drama as we learn about music and explore our voices. Contact director Katie Houts with any questions: katie.houts@gmail.com Prayer Requests You may request prayers for yourself or a loved one to be lifted up during worship. Look for prayer request cards in the pew racks. Fill one out and hand it to Pastor Dennis or the liturgist during the Passing of the Peace. He will share appropriate prayer requests during the blessings and concerns portion of worship. The prayer requests will be added to the prayer chain on Monday and included in the next Sunday bulletin (unless you mark that you d like it kept private). You may also e-mail the office during the week. The Building All persons wishing to use any space in the building must submit a building use request form (found in the office above the counter) to the Administrative Coordinator (Leigh Anne). Emergency Contacts The Special Care Ministry Team is working to collect the names and phone numbers of persons we can contact in case anyone in our congregation has an emergency or is hospitalized. Please submit your name and the name of your designated person and his or her phone number to the church office. This information will be stored in our church database. 11
