October 22, 2014 As New Hope we are Disciples of Christ striving to bring Heaven to earth through nurturing, serving, and connecting! From Bread & Wine to Faith & Giving We Will Miss You Everyone is invited to a reception honoring Katy Hirsch on Sunday October 26, 2014 immediately following morning worship in the Hall. We want to wish her prosperity and success in life as she travels down the path that God has chosen for her. Refreshments will be provided. Cards, well wishes, hugs and big pats on the back will be especially appreciated. Stewardship. Have you ever really thought about what the word Stewardship means. Wikipedia.com says that Stewardship is the responsible planning and management of resources. Dictionary.com defines Stewardship as the responsible overseeing and protection of something considered worth caring for and preserving. In our everyday lives, we become good stewards by taking care of our families and our homes, being good employees/employers, managing our money, planning for the future.education, retirement, etc. As good stewards within the church, we do much the same take care of our church family and our buildings, be participating church members, manage our money and plan for the future. In the next few days you will receive a letter introducing you to this year s Stewardship Campaign entitled From Bread & Wine to Faith & Giving A Journey Into the Spiritual Discipline of Generosity Around the Table of Jesus. Please read the letter, talk about it as a family and prayerfully consider your giving opportunity to New Hope Christian Church. Together we can make a difference in the future of New Hope Christian Church. Your Stewardship Chairman 2014 Diana Anderson

Friday, October 31st 6:00p.m. Halloween s getting close which means it s time to get ready for our annual Trunk or Treat event at NHCC. The Evangelism Committee will need a lot of help to make the evening special for all our little visitors. Sign up sheet on the Narthex Bulletin Board First, we need trunks the more the better! Bring your car and park it so you can hand out treats from the trunk. Decorations for the car and costumes for the people are optional but they really add to the festivities. Next we need volunteers to attend to all the different jobs traffic control, balloon ride waivers, etc. And last but not least we will need treats a lot of treats. We need individually wrapped gum, candy and other treats. Just pick up a bag or two when you are at the store and bring it to the church before October 31 and leave it in the basket provided in the narthex. New Hope Nurtures This Sunday, October 29th, the children of New Hope are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to church and be present for a special Children's Moment and a "spooky" Children's Church.
