GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes October 16, 2013 Vice-president Dave First called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Thirty members were present. ANNOUNCEMENTS/GUESTS Guests Jane and Bill Young, owners of a red 2003 50 th anniversary convertible, attended the meeting. Dave thanked the Club for the cards and flowers following his surgery. He passed on a thank you from Sam Lane for the flowers and cards sent in in the passing of Nancy. Dave also passed on a thank you from Judy Smith for the flowers and cards sent in the passing of her father. SECRETARY S REPORT Kitty Moorhead moved the minutes from the September meeting be accepted as written. Seconded by Pat Frymyer. TREASURER S REPORT Herb Smith provided the report. VICE PRESIDENT S REPORT Dave called for the following committee reports: SOCIAL Michele Bauer recapped the following: September 19-22: Terri Kopa stated that she and Larry had a good time at Mid-America s Funfest. There was a flyover of three bi-planes and the concert was great. Next year Vets and Vettes will be featured at Funfest. September 27-28: Judy Smith said that she and Herbie had a great time at the Route 66 Festival. Many Cozy Dogs were eaten. October 4-6: Michele said that 18 Club cars (8 caravanned) went to Vette Fest. October 6: Boris Tirpack won his race at Mid-America. His engine locked up and he finished the race in first gear. Congratulations Boris! October 20: Restoration Center Color Tour, Springboro. Drivers meeting at 1:00 p.m. and the tour starts promptly at 2:00 p.m. There will be food for sale at noon. October 26: Dinner out at El Meson in West Carrollton. Hosted by Greg and Gloria Hurwitz. November 7-9: NCM Vets n Vettes is a celebration honoring those who fought for our freedom. Contact Bob Stephens if interested in attending. November 16: Dinner out at Bravo near the Dayton Mall. Hosted by Greg and Gloria Hurwitz.

December 7: Annual banquet and Christmas party at Wyndham Garden South (formerly Holiday Inn) near the Dayton Mall. Call Wyndham directly at 434-8030 if you plan to stay and be sure to mention that you are with GDCC. Rooms are $69.00 which is $20.00 less than last year. Cost of the banquet is $50.00 per couple. If interested in MC duties, contact Michele. If interested in participating in the gift exchange for the Christmas party, bring a wrapped gift. Price range is $25.00. If anyone has pictures from club events/activities from this past year, e- mail them to Peggy DeLorenzo at robnpeg82 @woh.rr.com. She is putting together a slide show for the banquet. December 31: New Year s Eve Party, American Legion, Tipp City. John and Debbie Vanscoy will provide more information. MEMBERSHIP: Carol Tavener reported that we have 118 members. Carol sent cards to Sam Lane, Judy Smith and Dave First. Carol stated that Jerry and Debby McElroy s daughter is having surgery tomorrow. Keep them in your prayers. PUBLIC RELATIONS No report. EDITOR/ WEBMASTER No report. NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM (NCM) AMBASSADOR Jerry Schlatter stated the Corvette plant will begin assembly tours beginning October 14. Cost is $7.00 per person and reservations are required. Ohio and Western Pennsylvania Corvette Clubs are planning to caravan to Bowling Green for the 20th anniversary of the NCM in August 2014. Mike will resend the e-mail with the information. PRESIDENT S REPORT: No report. OLD BUSINESS Rob DeLorenzo said that if anyone plans to attend Peg s retirement ceremony, to contact one of the individuals listed on the announcement. You will need to provide your social security number as a limited background check will be conducted. Peg s retirement party with a band and food will be at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Dayton at 6:00 p.m.

New Business Dave indicated that November is the month to accept nominations for Club officers. Freddie, Dave, Herbie, and Terri stated that they would remain in office unless there are other nominations. Dave said that the Club is looking for a Public Relations person and one to take over Social duties at the end of the year. Giovanni s is having a Tour of Italy Dinner on October 29 at 6:30 p.m. Italian foods and wines will be featured. Cost is $52.50 per person. 50/50 drawing won by Russ Hodge: $37.00 Mike Jones moved the meeting adjourn. George Frymyer seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned. Respectively submitted, Terri Kopa
