BRENT LAMBERT Founder and CEO A few years ago I traveled as a consultant to a pregnancy ministry in Detroit, MI. The devastating economic failures of Detroit were evident everywhere. I passed many rundown and abandoned structures, but the one thing that really caught my attention was an empty parking lot; miles and miles and acre upon acre of empty parking lot. Although it once had served a very important purpose, the unmaintained lot was now riddled with cracks and potholes filled with weeds and grass. I found out that this lonely land mass of asphalt once was the temporary home of automobiles made in Detroit and the largest continuous piece of asphalt in the United States. Like so many other parts of the city that revolved around the auto industry, it is now just another eyesore that is useless and needs a new purpose. So just how does something that cost so much and was at one time prime real estate become useless? I daresay the same way that we as Christians can become useless; just willful neglect. It really doesn t matter why the reasons for the neglect, the result is the same. A once valuable property (our very lives) bought at a great price (the sacrifice of Jesus) develops small cracks that invite unwanted seeds of grass and weeds (small ethical compromises). This causes cracks to become wider and wider (more severe compromises that are harder to overcome). Harsh external influences (pressures of life and a sinful world) hasten the decay and over time become ineffective in its original intent (being a shining light of God s glory in a lost and dying world). Since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision our country has experienced a rapid fall in every imaginable area of moral decay. Case in point: the hero and young male role model of the 1976 Olympics who today has gone through medical procedures to look like a woman was recently named by a national magazine as their woman of the year. And this is just the tip of the immoral iceberg. The very moral fabric of our country is in shreds. I said all of this to simply say thank you for your support of the Birth Choice ministry as we join hands to fight against abortion and all the negative and evil effects it has on our culture and society. LASHON HAWKS Director of Development. 22nd Annual Fundraising Banquet Thursday, April 13th, at 6:00 pm The 22nd Annual Fundraising Banquet will be taking place at Northside Assembly of God Church, 27 Oil Well Road, Jackson, TN 38305 Join us for the 2017 Fundraising Banquet and prepare to laugh hysterically and be encouraged through our amazing guest speaker/comedian, Mike Williams. He will present us with a fun filled night while sharing his passion for pro-life ministry Mike G. Williams is a nationally known speaker and writer who has a passion for life. He is heard daily on the Sirius XM's Laugh USA. He has recorded 17 comedy projects and written 8 books. Included in those books are Men Moved To Mars When Women Started Killing The Ones On Venus and Love Is NOT A Three-Letter Word (A new look at Abstinence). His own personal adoption story and the rescue and subsequent adoption of his son will move you to tears of great joy. Each of Mike's presentations are given in a very positive humorous direction that will leave every listener feeling encouraged and empowered to make a difference. He came to popularity as a pro-life speaker after Focus on the Family brought his personal story to a national spotlight. Mike will have you rolling on the floor with laughter, while simultaneously building your reverence for the work of local life-saving organizations. There is no charge for this event, but a love offering will be taken to support this ministry as this is our largest fundraiser of the year. We respectfully ask that you do not bring children as seating is limited. Contact LaShon at 731-664-8443 or email lashon@birthchoice.us to make your reservation today. You may also request to host a table of 8, but please get your request in early as tables will fill quickly. "Change for Life" Baby Bottle Campaign Change for Life Baby Bottle Campaign will be taking place from Mother s Day to Father s Day and is an easy way for your church to get involved in this ministry. Members of each church are encouraged to take home a baby bottle and fill it with change, checks, or dollar bills and bring it back to the church before the deadline. It really is that simple and it is amazing to see how quickly that change adds up! Pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters can truly change lives and save the lives of unborn children. If your church does not currently participate and you are interested please contact me today at 731-664-8443 and I will help you get started.. 2016 was an incredible year here at Birth Choice and we cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for 2017. It is certainly off to a great start and we look forward to having each of you partner with us as we embark on some exciting events this year. 3

CHRISTINE VETETO Clinic Director Jackson Jackson Location 391 Wallace Road Jackson, TN 38305 (731) 664-8443 help@birthchoice.us A friend recently sent me the link to an article written by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D. He is a professor of ethics with degrees in economics, philosophy and theology. He is a Catholic theologian, an author and a permanent research fellow at the Center for Ethics and Culture at Notre Dame University. The title of his article: RELIGIOUS LEADERS BLESS PLANNED PARENTHOOD ABORTION MEGA-CLINIC, PRAISING ITS SACRED WORK. While I m not familiar with Dr. Williams outside of this article, we both wholeheartedly agree on the hypocrisy and, dare I say, evil of this event. I d like to share a few excerpts if I may. Abdullah, reportedly America s first openly gay imam. Two Hindu priests also joined in the blessing, chanting to provide a good vibration to the building so that anyone coming in will be healed soon. " There was more to this article, but I m sure you get the gist of it. Dr. Williams summed up this abysmal event very well in his closing paragraph: At Tuesday s blessing ceremony, the group sang This Little Light of Mine, A hymn taken from Christ s words to his disciples, You are the light of the world and his call to them to provide light to those around them. They did not, however, sing another hymn inspired by Christ s words: Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me. The idea of calling evil good and good evil is not new and we should not be surprised by it. I can t help but believe, however, that these false prophets of false gods will have much to answer for when they stand before our Sacred God. Jackson Needs list YOU HAVE NOT BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT We are so grateful for those of you who have given of your time, your services, and material donations to support Birth Choice. For others who may be looking for tangible ways to support this ministry, below are listed our current needs. If you are able to help with any of these needs, please call the Jackson office at 731:664.8443. Ask for Chris. More than 20 religious leaders of different faiths assembled Tuesday to bless Planned Parenthood s new abortion megaclinic in Washington, DC, praising its sacred work. "Dr. Serina Floyd, the medical director at Planned Parenthood, said that patients express shame, guilt, or fear about how God will perceive them. Now I can tell patients that this is a blessed space. Floyd says she looks forward to telling patients that those of faith also support your decisions. The event was organized by the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, and included leaders from different Christian denominations, a rabbi, abortion providers, a Planned Parenthood patient, Hindu priests, an Imam over Skype, visual art, and a liturgical dance. The faith leaders were joined over skype by Imam Daayiee NEEDS: Photographer. We are looking for someone who would be willing to take newborn pictures of our babies for their moms. This would have to be a person who has the photography equipment as well as the ability to take professional quality pictures. It can be done at Birth Choice or if someone has their own studio; that might work as well. This is such a wonderful way to come along side our new moms, especially those who changed their mind and chose life for their little ones. It would just take a few hours once a month. For more information, please call and ask for Chris at 664.8443. Painting. We have several doors and door frames that are desperately in need of a coat of paint. This would be a job for someone who has plenty of painting experience or possibly a local professional who could donate some time to this project. Birth Choice would supply the paint. Just three or four hours a week of your time can make a difference between life and death for an unborn child... 4

KELLY WALL Clinic Director, Gibson County Gibson County Location 1281 Hwy.45 Bypass Trenton, TN 38382 (731) 885-2900 sure@birthchoice.us "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" Proverbs 4:23 As I read the stories of our clients as recorded in their case files, I am reminded of a verse I read not long ago: Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 (NIV). I automatically thought about speech, but really everything we say and everything we do flows from our heart. When I looked up the definition of the word heart on my computer, it said the following: 1. The center of the total personality, especially with reference to intuition, feeling, or emotion 2. The center of emotion, especially as contrasted to the head as the center of the intellect (ex. His head told him not to fall in love, but his heart had the final say) 3. Capacity for sympathy; feeling; affection 4. Spirit, courage, or enthusiasm 5. The innermost or central part of anything The human heart is amazing. It s an awesome thing when you get to witness God use the tiny beating heart of an unborn baby as seen on ultrasound touch the heart of a mother who is considering abortion. It s a beautiful thing to see a woman whose heart is broken from a past abortion find healing and hope. It s an amazing thing to see a heart that was hardened by sinful behavior softened by the forgiveness of Christ. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. That s why it is vital that we share the Gospel with every woman God sends to us. Some of our client s stories are sad, even tragic, but their stories aren t finished yet! With God all things are possible and the gospel has the power to change lives. God has done that for me and I ll bet He s done that for you, too. Please pray for our clients to have hearts that are tender to the good news of Christ. Gisbon County Needs We Need Your Help! God s people are so faithful to jump in and help when needed and we are so grateful. We are in need of volunteer help and baby supplies. If you can help with any of the following, please call Kelly at 731.855.2900. God bless you! -If your church or community group is looking for projects this spring, Birth Choice of Gibson County can use your help! We are in need of people who can do general yard work including cutting down Crepe Myrtles and other tree branches. We also need our gutters cleaned out. Please contact Kelly for more information if you can help! -We are need of an updated camera to take pictures of our new babies. -Our Resource Room is in need of the following: Diapers (sizes newborn, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) Baby Wipes Diaper Bags, new or handmade Blankets Baby lotion Safety items Baby towels and wash cloths Onesies and sleepers (size newborn and 3-6 months) Baby beds Car seats High chairs Strollers Bouncy seats Bath tubs VOLUNTEER CLIENT ADVOCATE TRAINING DATES FOR SPRING 2017 Jackson and Gibson County Offices: May 2nd, 4th, 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, 25th Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. It is very important for you to attend all 8 sessions of the seminar. 5

KIM MAYER Director of Nursing Last weekend I travelled to Gatlinburg with our church youth group. We had a few hours to drive up into the mountains to see the fire damage. The mountainside was filled with scorched trees and blackened earth. Beautiful mountain cabins and homes lay in huge piles of rubble. We could still smell that distinctive burnt scent in the air. What caught my eye and made me ponder how a roaring, devastating fire works, is that next to a burnt tree would stand a healthy tree. Next to a home in ruins, would be a home standing strong, as if a fire had never come close to its doors. Next to scorched patches of earth would be carpets of moss, green and vibrant. This made me think of a day in the life of Birth Choice. The destructive forces of evil can sweep through the minds and hearts of our abortion minded clients, causing death to one life and no destruction at all to the other. Two clients walk into our clinic, both carrying the fire of death in their hearts. One leaves with a decision to keep that flame burning, even knowing it will cause death, the other leaves with a decision to drown out that flame with the tears of her tender heart. Alongside the Holy Spirit of our Amazing God, we are fire fighters. We fight this fire of evil with prayer, putting on the armor of God each day, and relying heavily on God s Holy Spirit. Stay strong in the fight. 6

JACKSON VOLUNTEERS TC TALLEY Director of Men's Mentoring and Abstinence Education Robert Notgrass is a COC Pastor from Washington, Virginia who has a heart for God, family and ministry. He also writes online Bible studies and articles to encourage and equip the people of God to live in a way that glorifies the Savior. The following article speaks volumes to me. A little leaven leavens the whole lump is stated twice in Scripture (1Cor. 5:6, Gal. 5:9). Now, leaven is a substance that causes fermentation, like yeast, and when only a small amount is added to a large lump of dough it ferments the whole lump. Thus, while it is small in quantity that permeates the whole substance it comes in contact, so it is with influence, meaning, that it only takes a little to have a great effect. A little can influence much. Now, influence can be either for good or bad. The kind of influence we have on others is based on what we allow to influence us and if we are not careful, some influences may slowly corrupt and change us. Therefore, the greatest influence in our lives must come from the word of God, because we can have an influence on someone without even knowing. MEDICAL PERSONNEL MEDICAL DIRECTOR Dr. Evanna S. Thus, what we do and say might seem insignificant, but in reality, our influence has a far reaching effect. We have influence in our community, in the work place, and especially in our homes. Children are mainly molded by the kind of influence they receive from their parents and children who are influenced by parents who are worldly minded and insensitive toward sin, will grow up to have the same mind set. Therefore, we must never allow our influence to become a stumbling block to others. For as Jesus declared, whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh! (Matt. 18:6-7 ASV). Now, what are you allowing to influence your life? What kind of influence are you having on those around you?
