Intake and Exhaust A Publication of Candlewood Valley Corvette Club David Z. escorting Tom Mack who was with the LA Rams for his whole football career in the NFL Hall of Fame Parade in Canton, Ohio. The Zschunkes participate in this parade every year! IMPORTANT NOTICE!! Our next General Meeting will be held at the CVCC Picnic, on Sunday August 12th Please RSVP for the Picnic to Linda Ottavio at lindao.geneo@gmail.com 1 August 2018

President s Corner I'd like to open with a special "thank you" to Linda and Gene Ottavio for the "Mystery Cruise" they planned and conducted to the Millerton Inn on Main Street in Millerton, N.Y. We took an interesting, scenic route to the restaurant and finished with a fine meal served in our club's own dining area. Sadly, summer is slipping away. August 8 is the last day this year in which the sun sets after eight PM. We still have several club events on tap before the Corvette driving season comes to an end. The first is our annual club picnic, scheduled for 12 noon on Sunday, August 12, at Bennett Memorial Park, 14 Shelter Rock Road, Bethel, CT. (See attached flyer) We will collect $10 per person, as in the past, to cover the cost of food and the use of the park. The club will provide hamburgers and hot dogs, soda, water and a cake. Each participant is asked to bring a food dish to share, and to let Linda O. know what dish you will bring when you RSVP to Linda. If you wish to bring any beverages other than those provided by the club, feel free to do so. Please RSVP ASAP to Linda at lindao.geneo@gmail.com as to whether or not you will attend and which food dish you will bring. VERY IMPORTANT! There will not be a regular monthly club meeting on Thursday, August 16. Instead, we will have a brief meeting at the club picnic on August 12. A "No Car Show, After Car Show Party" held at my house, 792 Candlewood Lake Road South, New Milford, CT, 06776. Tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2018. Details to be announced. We will also be attending the following Corvette related events over the next few months. Save the dates! Friday, September 7 to Sunday, September 9: The Adirondack VetteFest in Glens Falls, NY near Lake George, NY. Sunday, September 16: The New York Airshow at Stewart Airport, New Windsor, NY. This year's featured performers are the USAF Thunderbirds. Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30: Vettes to Vets in Billerica, MA. Saturday, October 20: A Corvette cruise to West Point, US Military Academy, NY, followed by a lunch at McArthur's Restaurant in the Thayer Hotel. Sunday, December 2: Annual Toy Drive, conducted with the Connecticut State Police in cooperation with numerous other Corvette and car clubs. Annual CVCC Holiday Party, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Chuck's Steak House, Danbury, CT. Details to be determined and published when available. I hope to see you all at the club picnic on Sunday. Don't forget to RSVP to Linda O. as to whether or not you will attend and what you will bring to share. Joe Wodarski President 2
