Delphi United Methodist Church Mar. 2015 Passover Seder Meal Experience March 29th, 5-7 p.m. Full meal and teaching about the Passover Seder. Plan to return from Spring Break in time to attend this Interactive Family Event. Free Will offering Art of Marriage Retreat April 10 th and 11 th, here at the church. This is a Friday evening-saturday afternoon event. For more details about this exciting event, check out the enclosed article or call the church office at 765-564-3791. Volunteers are still needed for the Father Daughter Dance to help with ironing ta- blecloths and with set-up. If you are able to help, please contact the church office.

Letters to Home Hi Mom and Dad, We are past the cold winter and I can see small signs of Spring! Everyone is ready for this new season when we can find new hope and renewal for life. I can feel the anticipation in the air around the church. We are experiencing new life over here in Delphi and I want you to know some of the good news! Over 200 people used our Prayer Guide to start the year. Over 290 tickets were sold for the Father Daughter Dance on March 14. Pray for the connections made! 10 confirmation students are connecting their hearts to the mission of God and will join on April 12. 5 people in our New Membership Class are deepening their roots. Upgrades in the Worship Center environment have greatly enhanced the worship experience. The Passover Seder Meal Experience on March 29 th is an excellent experience for our faith. We are teaching the whole church to answer this question Where have you see God working this week? The children affirmed that God is Not Dead! And helped us to see His Love. Wow! And that is without mentioning that finances are strong and we are continuing to pay down the debt. God is good at Delphi UMC. Peace, Todd, Rhonda, Jordan, Elijah and Hannah Health Ministry CPR/AED class will be Saturday, March 7. We have only one opening left but let me know and I will keep your name ready in case of a cancellation. We will plan to have another class in the Fall. Contact Connie Hughes at 765-564-3791 for more information. BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS Sunday, March 1st between services. Keep those numbers in check during this cold, winter season.. Did you know... Delphi UMC has a men s basketball league that plays and competes every Sunday evening against other teams at the Carroll County Community Center? This is Delphi UMC s 3rd year in a row participating in the league. Members include: Robert Rohrer, Jeff Shuler, Matt Peters, Jeremy Duff, Brad Farrer, Kyle Cross, Ryan Duff, Kevin Rosebrock, Ross Larimore, Pete Crowel, and Greg Brouwer. It is the team s hope that others will see Christ through them. What a great way to be a connecting point to Christ. Thanks guys!

Prayer Ministry Prayer Guide of the book of Acts What a great way to start this new year with our prayer focus ----- everyone reading and meditating on the book of Acts. What a blessing that between 190-200 booklets were distributed to our congregation and some classes are studying Acts in depth to gain insight about God s plan for The Church and the lessons we can learn from that early church. The part that is emphasized so much is------be bold for the Lord and tell our stories at every opportunity! We will be given some opportunities to share our stories in worship, in our families and in our work places so let s be obedient and let God do the rest. We should never put limitations on our God! Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or expect. Ephesians 3:20 Observing Lent can help us to experience the full joy of Easter. Be doers of the Word, and not merely hearers. James 1:22 Ecumenical Women s Retreat Sowing Seeds with Joy will be Saturday, March 14 at the First Baptist Church of Monticello, 409 Beach Drive. Light breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the program with Jackie Weaver will be from 9 til noon. Jackie pastors a small congregation in Wabash and she comes highly recommended for her ministry to women. Uplifting music will usher us into a time of worship. You won t want to miss this opportunity to fellowship with all ages of women. Pre-registration is not required but welcomed. Registration fee is $5 and the committee is asking for us to bring a toiletry or personal care item for Women 2 Women program. More information can be found on the registration forms located on Welcome Center desk rack and in Hallway #2. Monthly Morsel Come away with me to a quiet place and get some rest Mark 6:31. Jesus knows that if we do not come away with him we will come apart. We will become physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted, unbalanced and perhaps even ill. Time alone with Jesus is more important than anyone or anything on our calendar. The course of your life is shaped by the words yes and no. Say yes to your values and guard that yes with your calendar, even if it means you need to build time alone with Jesus into your schedule. In our mission to support and strengthen families, DUMC will be hosting the Art of Marriage Retreat here at the church on April 10 th and 11 th. This is a Friday evening-saturday afternoon event. Childcare will be available both sessions. Regardless of how long you ve been married or whether your marriage is rock solid or could use a tune up, this marriage enrichment retreat is for you. Art of Marriage comes from Family Life, which is a Christian non-profit organization whose mission is to "effectively develop godly marriages and families who change the world one home at a time." The Art of Marriage is open to everyone. If you are in a relationship and contemplating marriage at some point in your future, this retreat will help you establish a great foundation for your relationship. Cost is $49 per couple and that includes childcare and lunch on Saturday!! You may register at the welcome desk or in the office. Payment is due at the time of Registration. Deadline to purchase tickets is April 5 th. Art of Marriage tickets make great gifts too! Gift certificates are available! For more information or if you have questions, contact Pastor Sheri.

The first joint circle meeting will be Tuesday March 3 rd, 7pm at the church. We welcome all new members. The program will highlight the Call to Prayer & Self Denial, yearly pledges, the reading program, and mission projects for the year. The Spring NW District Meeting will be held April 11 th starting at 9:00AM in Rochester. Spring Mission Project: Bra collection. Young women in Africa have a history of being abused sexually but the chances decrease if bras are worn. The program, Free the Girls, provides income through sales of bras and other clothing. Due to the personal nature of the item requested, there will be a marked receptacle in the church office for collecting new or gently worn bras of all colors and sizes which will be sold in shops ran by young women working to improve their lives. For more details go to freethegirls.org. Praise God for a Caring Church family. Thank you for all the prayers, cards, notes, and food during my recovery from surgery in January. THANK YOU! If you have been to one of our services lately, you may have noticed some changes in the Worship Center and Rotunda. A team was selected to formulate observations and brainstorm ways to make the space warm, inviting, and visually appealing all the while keeping its functionality and remaining pleasing to God. With the help of many people coming together, the upgrades included: Painting of the Worship Center walls (front and angled), new banners with pulley system, a ground wall, new Rotunda flower arrangements, names of God in vinyl lettering on the angled walls, wooden tissue box covers, welcome banner in the Rotunda, stage stools painted black, vinyl lettering in the Rotunda, new hardware for current banners hung in the back of the Worship Center, and the Rotunda columns painted. A huge thank you goes to: LeBeau Painting, Neal Anderson, Fred Draper, Aaron Albitz, Matt Saul, Russ Jones, Aaron and Jana Anderson, Chad Sherman, Sarah Cross, Randy and Nina German, and Mike and Debbie Hyman. While the space one worships in is not the central focus, it does help to create a connection, or a sense of a scared place and holy ground. Our hope is that all who attend Delphi UMC will feel filled with the Holy Spirit and love of Jesus Christ. 3rd Annual Marilyn s Angel Meals In honor and memory of Patti s mother and Cory s grandmother, Marilyn Mitchell, Mitchell s is dedicating all proceeds from all sales at Mitchell s Mexican Grill on Wednesday, March 4 th to help feed the children, through the Buddy Bag Program, at Camden and Hillcrest Schools..
