Is Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Thank you to all who signed up to help. Even if you didn't, you are still welcome to come help for as long as you can. Both sitting and standing jobs are available. We will be breaking 450 dozen eggs. Help is needed especially in the afternoon 12:00-4:00 pm and 4:00-6:00 pm. See you on the BIG DAY at the fair grounds in Hillsboro! See Verda D for more details. WEDNESDAY MEAL This is the final meal for the spring. Please indicate on the friendship sheet how many from your family will be joining us for the meal. The menu for this week is pizza, veggies, apples, pop, ice cream and toppings. The suggested donation is $2.00 per person (children under 5 free). Bring your own table service. EXPLORING FORGIVENESS Is the title of the Adult Study for March and April. Recognizing that we hurt and are hurt by each other in small ways that affect our relationships at home, at work, and at church, how might practicing forgiveness help to build up and strengthen these relationships? Our final evening of the study is this Wednesday. We will study Putting it into Practice. THE MCC SALE Is April 7-8, 2017. Please take a few moments to view the items our Faith family have made for the sale. If you did not bringing your items to showcase this Sunday or you have baked goods to donate, please plan to have everything at the church on Friday, April 7, 2017, by 9:00 am. The church doors will be open by 7:30 am for those of you who need to stop by early. You may drop off items during church office hours throughout the week as well. Friday, April 14, 2017: Community Good Friday Service - Seven last Words; 7:00 pm, Grace Community Church (1600 S Anderson, Newton, KS). The Newton Ministerial Alliance is bringing in "Jews for Jesus" with a presentation of Christ in the Passover. The presentation is a visual demonstration of a Jewish Passover, connecting the ancient festival of redemption and Christ as the Lamb of God. It interweaves the story of Exodus and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ through Jesus' words in the Upper Room. We will share in communion after the presentation. Sunday, April 16, 2017: Easter Sunrise Service; 6:45 am; at the home of Byron and Janet E; Bring Lawn Chairs and a breakfast dish to share (no hot food please); Come rain or shine! Sunday, April 16, 2017: Easter Worship Service, 10:30 am; (No Sunday School; No Coffee & Fellowship). (Church office will be closed Friday and Monday, April 14 and 17, 2017) FAITH FASPA... Is traditionally on the 5th Sunday of the month. We missed the month of January and will miss April 30, 2017, and are having difficulty finding a time to schedule faspa. We will continue working on this. Meanwhile, if anyone has a suggestion please let us know. ~ Ken and Mary J CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS The Board of Witness and Outreach is giving full scholarships to attend Camp Mennoscah for Faith youth this summer. (If you want to attend Rocky Mountain Camp, you will receive the amount you would have received for Camp Mennoscah for that age camp.) You showed up, put pens to paper, filled ziploc bags with toothpaste, socks and more. Because of you, 1,100 letters were written and delivered to Hutchinson Correctional Facility. Because of you, 236 Prisoner Care Kits are ready to deliver to indigent men. We'd love to see you next year, same time, same place! Thank you!! SWISS MENNONITE CULTURAL & HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION Is planning two trips this spring and summer. 1) May 6, 2017: Day trip through parts of Marion, Harvey and McPherson Counties; pointing out landmarks, trails, history, economic development and much more about the area. 2) July 18-20, 2017: 3-day tour, Goodwill Tour to Freeman ; busing to Freeman, learning about their culture and sites; visiting a Hutterite Colony and having dinner there; viewing the site and learning about the events that led to five young boys freezing to death during the blizzard of 1888. For preschool children, use the For families section on the Early Childhood leaflet 1) Read Matthew 26:26 28. What did Jesus offer to the disciples to symbolize his body and blood? 2) Silently tell God things you are sorry for. Receive God s loving forgiveness by saying to each other, God loves and forgives you. 3) Make Eat pita bread and drink grape juice to remember Jesus last supper. Add hummus or falafel and plain yogurt. Did you know? What Jewish festival did Jesus celebrate at the Last Supper?
