We can never match God s perfect gift in Jesus, but through the Christmas Joy Offering, we can testify to who we know God to be. Today we receive this special Joy Gift to support Presbyterian ministers and church workers with critical financial needs as well as students in Presbyterianrelated schools and colleges equipping communities of color. The FUPC Individual Assistance Fund helps church members and the community with emergency food, rent, utilities, and special needs. This Christmas Eve offering will be used in its entirety for 2019 assistance. Your generous gifts make a difference for those in unexpected circumstances. This is an ongoing fund and contributions may be given to it at any time. Pastoral Coverage - Rev. Susan Gray (236-7588), who is well-loved by FUPC members, will be on call for pastoral emergencies between December 26-January 1 while Revs. Phil and Jan Butin are away during the holidays. Brianne Christiansen (712-240-3122), Director of Youth and Young Adults Ministries, has completed a semester of pastoral care through Western Theological Seminary this fall and is also a trained Stephen minister. She will also be available, as needed. Please call the Church Office for care to be arranged. On the weekend or office holidays (December 31 and January 1), you may call Rev. Gray directly. Additional Announcements New or gently-used coats for men, women, and children are being collected in the Calvin Hallway through December 24. These coats will be given to 7hills Homeless Center for individuals in need in our community. Still looking for a great LAST MINUTE Christmas present? We appreciate your commitment to being a welcoming church. Thank you to all who have generously committed your time, talents, and treasures This stewardship season. We encourage all members and regular attenders to make a 2019 financial pledge and a pledge of your time and talent as an expression of your gratitude for God s grace in your life.
