SEPTEMBER 4, 2016 _ ST. COLUMBANUS CHURCH_ #481/PAGE 4 September 4, 2016 NOVENA FOR OUR NATION Just a reminder to sign up for a 54 Day Rosary Novena (now in its 21 st day) if you haven t already done so. (novenaforournation.com). It is imperative for our country and our church that we vote for those who will protect religious liberty and the right to life. The Democratic candidate has told religions they must change their beliefs and considers the Catholic Church an enemy. She wants unrestricted abortions and the party platform calls for doing away with the Hyde Amendment which prevents tax payers from funding abortion. The contraceptive mandate will be forced upon those morally opposed to it. The UN, national governments, international and national agencies are pushing a program called Comprehensive Sexuality Education. This will affect children as young as five years old. It is obscene and pornographic with handouts having the students negotiate sexual encounters. There is only one word for the above: EVIL. We are in a battle against Satan so we need to pray, fast, and sacrifice. With all that is going on in our culture today, I hope parents would consider sending their children to our school here at St. Columbanus. The benefits and protection of our children far outweigh any cost. In Jesus and Mary, Fr. Frank Samoylo ST. PATRICK S (YORKTOWN) WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS SUPPORT CLUB... will meet on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at 7:00pm for the Annual Mass for deceased spouses. Cake and coffee will be served after Mass. For information call 845-628-4279. HEALING MASS A Healing Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, 1925 Rte 82, La- Grangeville, NY 12540. Guest Celebrant will be Fr. James Sheridan. Praise & worship begins at 7:00pm, Mass at 7:30pm in the Chapel. OUR LADY OF FATIMA STATUE Next year is the 100th anniversary of the Blessed Mother s apparition to the 3 children at Fatima. At that time, Our Lady told the children to pray the Rosary daily and offer sacrifices for sinners. If her requests were fulfilled, the war would end and sinners would be converted. St. Columbanus Parish has a statue of the Pilgrim Virgin, Our Lady of Fatima. We hope you and your family will open your hearts and welcome the statue into your home to pray the Rosary with family and friends. To set up a date, or for more information, please call Bobbi at 914-737-1416, or Ann at 914-402-4374.
