The role they played is not always obvious, so he has to ask some questions to discover how these people influenced his life. There are many people who influence our lives. Some we have met and others remain in obscurity. Think of the many people over the years who worked for your parish or school, who shaped the company you work for, or planned the community you live in. Think of your teachers, babysitters, coaches and Scout leaders. We all benefit from those who work for the welfare of others. It is not always possible to go back and say thanks. We can pray for them and ask the Lord to reward their goodness. We can also pass on the kindness we have received to someone else. What you can t pay back, you can pay forward. Do something good for those who will come after you and encourage them to do the same. Continue the good work that blessed your life by doing some good for others. ~James Gaffney, 2009 Karides Lic. to St. George Publishing jim@stgeorgepublishing.com Keeping In-Touch With Seton 116 Hughes Street Swoyersville, PA 18704 Phone: 570-287-6624 Fax: 570-287-4704 Web: Extension Numbers: Ext. 2 Mass Schedule Ext. 3 Religious Ed Ext. 100 Lori Raymond setonpa@aol.com Ext. 105 Fr. The Fifth Annual Catholic Men's Conference for the Diocese of Scranton will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Holy Redeemer High School, 159 South Pennsylvania Ave. Wilkes Barre, PA 18701. A most important day for the future of our faith featuring keynote presentations by Fr. Philip G. Bochanski, the executive director of Courage International who speaks on the good news of living chaste lives, along with well-known psychologist, speaker, and EWTN TV host, Dr. Ray Guarendi. Our third speaker will be motivational speaker, apologist, and TV host of Battle Ready, Doug Barry. You will hear Doug explain the BATTLE READY effort to be more AWARE of, PREPARED for and ENGAGED in the battles that we all face, body, mind and soul. Every one of us is in the thick of the spiritual battle. Many do not see it and consequently are unprepared for it. The outcome of that scenario is devastating. The primary goal of BATTLE READY is to help others know how to deal with the attacks of the world, the flesh and the devil. A must awareness for Catholic men! There will be opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration, the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well as Rosary. Additionally, exhibitors will be present with a full array of Catholic books and publications as well as CDs and ministry opportunities. Fathers, sons, grandsons and friends are all most welcome to register for the event. Bishop Joseph C. Bambera will celebrate the closing Mass. The idea for the event was initiated by laymen from various parishes, with the support of their pastors, in an effort to address challenging issues facing men in today's culture.
