Diocesan Women s Conference October 14, 2017 Women of the Diocese of Harrisburg, please mark your calendar for the 3 rd Annual Diocesan Women s Conference, Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Bishop McDevitt High School. Our Lady s Festival Committee is sponsoring a Pork & Sauerkraut Dinner on Sunday, October 29 th from 11 am to 1 pm in the parish hall. Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Report from 9/27/17: The Parish Pastoral Council met on Sept. 27, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the hall. Present were Fr. Frank, Anne Altman, Barry & Shirley Gilbert, Rita Buhay, Walter Janusky, Joe Murray, Barbara & Fred Persing. Excused were Deacon McCarthy & Ron Corona. The meeting began with prophetic meditation and a prayer. The last meeting was reviewed. Fr. Frank reported on the upcoming Fatima celebration at all the Masses on Oct. 14 th & 15 th ; the growth of the Charismatic Prayer Meeting; a review of the recent repairs was discussed including the Collier coating of the parking lot and the B & B concrete work. Fr. Frank indicated the paint peeling from the church ceiling. Fred suggested attaching plastic if possible. Fr. Frank thanked those who spruced up things around the property which included Tom & Sandy Rusnak, Mary & Lew Snyder, Frank Lawski (cleaning the sign for the bell by the rectory) & Elaine Polinski. This includes the wreaths on the doors, the power cleaning of the brick wall in the backyard, painting the signs, putting up a new flag with directed light, planting flowers, etc. Fr. Frank is still looking into padding for the handicap pews. Shirley suggested a small banister off the side of the sanctuary to help those serving at the altar who have trouble with steps. Fred suggested we look at bundling for our phone, tv & computer service. Shirley indicated the need for a new sacrarium in the sacristy and the need to place a copy of the Rite of Confession prayers in the confessional to help people with their confessions. The next meeting is Wednesday, Nov. 15 th at 6:30 pm in the hall.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM Infant Baptism is celebrated the first and last Sunday of each month. Parents are required to participate in a preparatory session prior to having your baby Baptized. Church law dictates specific guidelines. Please call the parish office for specific information and to arrange an appointment to begin the process. SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY In order to facilitate marriage preparation Diocesan policy requires that preparation begins 9 to 12 months prior to the date of the intended wedding. Please be sure to check with the Church prior to making all other wedding plans. The initial contact with the parish will assign a mentor couple who will work with you in preparing for marriage. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK Please call the parish office anytime to request the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Father Karwacki and our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will take Holy Communion each month on First Friday. Please call if you or a family member desires to be added to the monthly Communion list. BRINGING THE BREAD AND WINE TO THE ALTAR If you have scheduled a Mass for your loved one and you wish to bring up the bread, wine and collection YOU MUST SPEAK TO THE USHERS BEFORE MASS and tell them you wish to do so, otherwise the ushers will bring up the gifts or someone else will.
