Stevi I loved my Uncle Boyd even as a very tiny girl. He was the uncle who called me Buttercup. Little did I know that he called all his females Buttercup but at that time I felt special. He was the uncle that flew to Lincoln and took me on my first airplane ride. That little jittery plane would have scared me but I knew I was safe since he was the pilot. He was the uncle that made us laugh no matter what. He would walk in the room and everything would brighten. What a gift he has been and how I will miss him. Stevi Stevi Peggy Duckwall How very sorry I was to read in the paper about Mr. Quate. I worked for Dr. Cook for many years and some patients just stood out. Mr. Quate was one of them. His joy in life showed thru. He was always interested in everyone he met. What a great sense of humor he possessed. I also know because we did talk a lot the love he had for his family the joy he took in traveling with Margrit. Also how he did miss traveling. I am just grateful to have known him. Peggy Peggy Duckwall The Patrick Joyner family Our family enjoyed getting to know Mr. Quate over the past year or so. He was very interesting with many adventuresome stories our 7 children loved to hear. We were pleased to have him as a guest in our home several times with Mr. Ronnie White a great friend of Boyd's. He would light up like a Christmas tree when he got a smile out of one of our little ones. One of our daughters enjoyed giving him piano concerts which he graciously listened to and always complimented. Our children sing as "Southern Sunshine" so they also knew him as "the rain man" from having performed for the Ruritans and they thought the name was great fun. He was always very gentlemanly courteous and polite in every way and we were very sad to learn on Thursday of his passing. We are thankful God allowed him to cross our path and hope that we were some small encouragement to him. The Joyner family in Smithfield The Patrick Joyner family Don & Trish Parkinson We had the privilege of meeting Boyd when he was in Vancouver visiting Margrit. He was such a charming happy gentleman with the best laugh we've heard. We were in the elevator with him when he laughed and the elevator shook such a genuinely nice man. Rest in peace Boyd. You will not be forgotten. Don & Trish Parkinson
Margrit Radloff Whenever Boyd entered a room the whole house was filled with his presence. With him came this big smile and his laughter showing his happiness to be with his family and friends. He was the centre of attention and enjoyed ever moment of it. He was a loving and caring man. He was the love of my life. Gods gift to both of us were these seventeen years we had together. I will live on with all the memories of our RV travels and the many friends we met. I will never forget the good times we spent in Virginia with the big family. My heartfelt thanks go to Boyds daughter Martha and her husband Ray for all the love and care and dignity they gave him to his final time. Margrit Radloff Vancouver Canada Margrit Radloff Mrs. Jordan To The Family I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I also want to share the comfort of John 5:2829 which assures us of the hope that those who have fallen asleep in death will receive a "resurrection" back to life. Life on an earth restored to a beautiful paradise. Psalms 37:11 says "The meek ones themselves will possess the earth and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." While we await that wonderful time please find comfort in these promises. Mrs. Jordan Marian and Jacques Tetteroo Dear family w're friends from Boyd from HOLLAND. We know Boyd and Margrit since 1998! Marian and Jacques Tetteroo Renate Alberts To the family of Boyd my husband Dieter and myself are very sorry to hear that Boyd is no longer with us.i met Boyd many years ago at the Outdoor Resort in Cathedral City California. To be specific I met him in the laundry.we started talking over folding our towels and sheets. He was telling me about his travels in his motorhome. His regrets were that he was traveling all by himself. He got me thinking about my cousin Margrit who would love to travel in a motorhome!! To make a long story short: Boyd came up to Vancouver/Canada with another couple and met Margrit. That was the beginning of a wonderful love story. Jim McDade 07:52am I recall enjoying Mr Quate's weather forecasts on WCOV in Montgomery Alabama many years ago. I stumbled across this announcement by accident and was saddened to read about his passing. His professional weather reports are memorable even after 40 years or so.
