I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy time with family and friends. I cannot believe that we are already into the Christmas season for 2012. As we have been reminded in recent times that society is constantly trying to commercialize the reason for the season, but let us not forget the true meaning and reason for the season, keep Christ in Christmas. Now more than ever we need to stand united and strong in our Christian faith so that our children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy the religious freedoms and customs that we have been able to enjoy as we grew up. My family and I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May God bless us all during the Christmas season and in the new year of 2013. Also I would like to thank all of those who helped to accomplish another successful Dinner Theater in November. *Please see Ladies Auxiliary section for dates of upcoming events. December 1 st and 2 nd the Knights of Columbus will be supporting the March for Life group of youth, who will be traveling to our Nation s Capital in Washington D.C. for the annual march. December 6 th our council will be hosting the Winter Tridistrict meeting at the hall. A light dinner will be served at 6:30pm with the meeting immediately following at 7:00pm. The ones close to our hearts, or far away in thoughts, that we may not have met to speak to yet, because we may not have tried. A special word as difficult as hi, hello or good morning can change the whole day long, to make a friend, or cheer up a lonely person. These words are nothing new, you have heard them all before, but maybe most important to someone s day. A brother knight or family, maybe alone in their thoughts, we do not know their plight in life, as much as we may think. Christmas time is a time of joy to all we share it with, so use these words of joy I ask, a Merry Christmas is in store. It is not too early as time goes by, to remind each person of this great season of Christianity and love. The world is full of bad news, if we listen to it all, so make it sweet and pleasant for the time we have before us all. I have become a senior in this short time that has passed. I understand much better now the things that have come to pass. A moment to a stranger maybe more important than we have known, to make life special In God s eyes this will show. So take a chance and speak to a stranger as you pass and tell them Merry Christmas in the warmest way you can. NOT HAPPY HOLIDAY! Saturday & Sunday 12/1 and 12/2 bake sale after all three masses please sign up to help work You can also bake cookies/other baked goods and drop off at parish center during set up or other arranged times before the sale. Any questions please feel free to call Gloria at 989.673.3491 or on my cell 212.659.1754. Thank you, Gloria MERRY CHRISTMAS Respectfully Submitted: December 1, 2012 Richard T.
