Having it all is not about striving for perfection, or about living our lives according to someone else s standards or expectations (we ve done that for far too long). It s not about working ourselves to a state of exhaustion, spreading ourselves too thin, or trading inner peace and contentment for outer trinkets of success. Been there. Done that too. 4 Questions with Christy Whitman C: I would like to ask you how do you define having your all in your life? Andrea Albright: (you can have it all, it s not selfish or strange and bizarre to believe that all is possible that you are just saying it because that s where start believing that it s possible.) Well I love this question and I appreciate you asking this question because it gave me an opportunity to pause and to reflect on where I ve been and how I have struggled with my body and my weight and have struggled in relationships and I ve struggled and money and you name it I ve struggled. Today how I know that I am living my dream and that I have that it that I ve always wanted is in the morning when I first wake up as the most peaceful and reflective time of my day. Before the noise and distraction of the outside world work computer and technology or anyone else disturbs my thinking, I pause and I go in and reflect. What does my inner world revealed to me? When I wake up and I m excited about the day that s in front of me and who I am and who I get to be and what is on my calendar and on the agenda that s what I know that I am living in that place of abundance and my truth and it really define myself by who I am by how I wake up in the morning if I am like oh no I don t want to do this or gosh I am so exhausted and tired then there is something that is off and telling me I am not in the flow. I am not living in my greatest truth. So I define my it and my all is when I wake up my eyes spring open and I m so excited that I get that opportunity to be with myself and my inner thoughts and inner joy. That s how I define it by my relationship with myself first thing in the morning. At first it feel so hard I actually had to schedule in my calendar pay attention to me time. Now it is a habit because what I find is that when I give to myself even if it s just a few deep breaths, three deep breaths it doesn t have to be 20 minutes or an hour that s great when I have that and I take that when I can but it s the intention of saying I am going to fill myself up first. What I found is that when my husband needs me or my family needs me or any of the hundreds of thousands of women that I connect with me online, when I feel myself up first I give from abundance and that creates more joy and unless energy, I don t have this burnout as I do whenever I immediately jump out and say okay who needs me and I just give to that because what happens is I become resentful that all my God somebody else needs me I have to take care of them. So I ve learned that if I take those three quiet breaths that it changes everything. It s a

habit it s a practice it s just like a muscle when you start looking a 5 pound weight and to do that and say, hey now I can lift a 10 pound weight and you do that, so to start where you re at. C: What s the core belief that you hold to be true either about yourself or the universe for you to really experience your life where you are really having it all? Andrea Albright: I believe that we live in an abundant universe so the scarcity mentality doesn t show up for me. I believe that there is enough money, enough help, enough beauty, enough light, there is enough love, there is enough friends, and there is enough of everything that you desire. And so helping other people create their abundance in their life it doesn t take away from you, in fact it only adds to the abundance that s here. And I love the quote the tide rises all ships. So when the tide is coming in it rises all ships by connecting to the flow of the universe it s the tide coming in that abundance coming in. I find the more I am and service of others gaining what they want in their body of their dreams the healthier I become in the happier I become and it s a sense of flow and sharing the abundance because that is the natural law of the universe. I believe that and I experience it every day. And it s an honor and a joy to help a woman celebrate her abundance and her body and the love of herself because the more lightly shine, the brighter the world is and we need more light. It s never oh the sun is shining too bright. And flowers I think it s wonderful because flowers never say to the other flour it so arrogant of you to bloom so bright. Imagine a flour saying oh no I don t want to take up the sun s light I have to leave enough for the rest of the flowers. That doesn t show up. So blooming is shining and it s not arrogant to bloom or arrogant to shine like a flower searching for the brightest light to soak it all up. When you see a woman who is shining her light I celebrate her and I say yes, keep shining, and shine bigger because she s reflecting that light on to me. So I really believe in the abundance of the universe and that is a very loving awesome space to be in because you really get to be and sisterhood compared to some of the traditions of our past and even evolutionarily speaking women used to compete with each other for the most desirable mate and the resources and that just doesn t fit and today s world anymore. We don t have to compete over a mate because we can get our own education and we can start our own business and a family and get a great body. We don t live in the limitations that past generations had. So today when a woman says I celebrate all that another woman can be there is just more

abundance to be shared. It was a huge turning point for me when I was going through the darkest times of my life and I was actually seeking professional help dealing with some sexual trauma that had happened in my past. I was really distraught and I didn t know if I was going to be able to stay in the relationship that I was in and I went and saw out professional help. And she was very bright and brilliant and she was so well dressed and composed and I remember in my tears I looked at her and said you are so beautiful and I admire you so much and should looked at me and said well that s because you see it in yourself too. And she changed my entire perspective in a moment and I realized oh my gosh I see that in myself too, and it made sense like of course if it didn t exist in me that I wouldn t have seen it in her. And she change my life in that moment and now when I see a woman to me oh you are so beautiful fit and bright I simply say I am a mirror reflecting your brightness and your light and your beauty back to you because if it didn t exist and you then you wouldn t see it in me. C: So when you re in that state, in that present moment and you really feel like you do have it all, can you just describe what it is of that essence of how you feel? Andrea Albright: it feels infinite beyond time beyond space and beyond form. There is a feeling of being at one with all things, all beings, and in all time and space. It is a beautiful feeling that I have cultivated through the practice of yoga and meditation. I have been practicing yoga for almost 15 years now and when I first started practicing yoga I thought it was very strange when I would leave my body. It was this really bizarre thing like oh my gosh I m out of my body and now I see it as such a gift that I give myself when everything dissolves. And it can sound weird and strange I come from a science background, and so it doesn t make sense with the logical mind. And yet when you allow your mind to quiet and the ripples like in the lake instead of waves in a lake it s just very still and smooth, if you ever experienced that space where your mind is totally quiet, you do feel a sense of expansion and a sense of not confined or not limited. And now I see my practice of yoga and meditation, I practice it everywhere. And practicing at now. So when I was on the mat and practicing on the mat I am in that space. When I stepped off of them that I continue my practice. And so now I m so grateful to have the experience in my daily life and in the moment to moment

having access to that infinite experience. The more research I do on it the more science actually does back it up. And there are scientists who are studying brain waves and the brain waves go into a different state when you are in a completely relaxed state. We now have tools and signs that can measure this what the yogis have been experiencing for thousands of years. So it s very exciting and it s no longer weird and woo woo because when it first started happening I thought this is strange who can I talk to about this but now this day I am able to express and talk about and it is so cool. That s what I know I m in that space of flow I have that sense of timelessness and space-less-ness and peaceful. C: What is one tip so others can feel that essence in their lives? Andrea Albright: your breath. Your breath is always the key to accessing your peace. We can explain it with science so there is two nervous systems. You have the parasympathetic in the sympathetic nervous system. There are actually two different nervous systems inside of you. One is when you re under stress and one is when you re in a relaxed state. So using your breath to calm your mind you actually have a physiological response, you switch into your parasympathetic nervous system, so your parasympathetic nervous system is where you are able to experience relaxation, the calmness, it s where digestion occurs many people don t realize is when you re in the fight or flight or in the sympathetic nervous system, you are preparing for a fight, so all of the blood is in your muscles and it s in your brain because you are ready to go and ready to fight or ready to run. All the blood is diverted away from your digestion; one of the first things that I teach women about losing weight is that you have to learn how to relax. You have to calm your mind and take deep slow breaths especially before you eat so that the blood can go into your digestive system and actually digest those nutrients. This physiological response will create health and well-being for your body, it will increase your immune system, it will prevent stress and stress is what causes cortisol which causes belly fat, so the stress cycle is the cycle that creates fat storage and sickness and addictive behaviors like turning to drugs and alcohol and sex and shopping because you are just looking for a release, you re looking for a calm. But you can train your body and your mind to be in a state of calm by taking a breath. So tuning into the breath, enjoying the breath. Isn t it great I love when people breathe, you can always tell me to breathe and never get sick of hearing that because it always

works. Even if you are locked in a cell, people can take away your freedom they could take away your rights they can torture you they can do all kinds of things to but no one can ever take away your breath. It is so sacred and so special and I believe that it is the key to accessing our higher self. The word inspiration is one of my favorite words because in Latin means in spiritus to bring in the spirit and the Romans understood that the Spirit traveled on the breath. So here we have words like respiration and inspiration literally means to breathe in, inspire. Expires to breathe out so these words of breath and spirit used to be intertwined with other cultures but today we ve lost that but it doesn t mean that it still doesn t work. It still works. And whenever you need to access your higher self your peace your truth or and science your parasympathetic nervous system, the breath is the key. You can notice where you re at if you re breathing shallow, you can actually pause and say I m going to consciously breathe into my belly. And just that pause will immediately give you access to more oxygen which is our number one nutrient, so you can go for weeks without food and days without water but you can only go for a few minutes without breath. It s a number one nutrient of your body so enjoy your breath, breathe deep and have a breathing practice. It s a relationship that I could cry when I think about my relationship with my breath and how I ve been studying the breath and learning about breath and enjoying the breath for decades now. And it never gets old. It never runs out and never stopped nourishing me. And it seems so simple all take a deep breath it s almost kind of boring. But you can make it exciting if you really get into it and realize that you have the key inside of you all the time. That s endlessly fascinating and it s easy and simple I want to keep things simple because what s the point of having the key to enlightenment if you have to climb up the Himalayas. It s here right now in your breath in this moment. Believe in yourself there was something about you that was attracted to this message so breathe into that and flame those fuels, make it brighter, believe in it and whenever you forget just come back and watch this interview or watch one of Christie s videos will create and set yourself notes because the thing about waking up is yes we wake up and we remember oh I am an infinite being full of possibility and abundance of self-love and all of my dreams are sacred and then we go back to sleep and forget. So now that you are awake and remember set tools around to stay awake. Surrounding yourself with other people who are awake and are sharing this light and abundance is the best way to stay awake and it makes your life so much more enjoyable.
