NEWS FROM KANAPAHA Page 6 Mission... By Moderator, Kim Friend Interfaith build a celebration of faith partnerships Habitat's mission involves building communities as well as homes. Habitat's interfaith initiative offers the opportunity to extend a hand to our neighbors of other faiths, and to work together to rid the world of poverty housing. Our Interfaith Builds are funded and built by members of local faith communities. Aside from new homes built, the positive and meaningful interaction among members of different religions encourages mutual trust, inspires hope, and ensures the sustainability of interfaith collaboration. CALLING ALL BUILDERS (WITH OR WITHOUT EXPERIENCE) On Saturday, April 13, KPC will be working on the Interfaith Build project for Alachua County Habitat for Humanity. We are looking for people who are willing to help out at the build site (remember no experience necessary). Volunteers must be 16 yrs. or older. We will also be looking for people to help provide lunch to the work crew. A sign up sheet will be circulated during the worship services for volunteers to help at the site or to assist with lunch. You can contact Kim Friend at kimfriend1@hotmail.com or at 609-306-5699 or Veronica Ziegler at vernsilk@hotmail.com if you have any questions. Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church will also be volunteering along with us. You may remember Wesley Chapel members participating with us in several mission and fellowship projects. Many of their members worked with us last year on the Interfaith build site. It will be exciting to work alongside them again. Thank you from the Mission Committee..
