The UMW will meet this month on Monday, January 15 th @ 1:30pm. BEWARE OF DOG A little humor ---------- Upon entering a little country store, the stranger noticed a sign warning, Danger! Beware of dog! posted on the glass door. Inside, he noticed a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor beside the cash register. Is that the dog folks are supposed to beware of? he asked the owner. Yep, that s him, came the reply. The stranger couldn t help but be amused. Certainly doesn t look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign? Because, the owner explained, Before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him. with Saint Peter, and the men to form two lines. Make one line of the men that dominated their women on earth, and the other of men who were dominated by their women.' Dear Church Family, I want to start by saying thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous donations that made our Kid s Christmas Day possible! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful, giving, and supportive church family. For lunch we had pizzas and chicken tenders ready for them to eat before we headed off to the movies. They thoroughly enjoyed that! The kids had an awesome time at the movies! We were able to pay their way in and get each kid a snack box (popcorn, drink, and fruit snacks). They laughed and acted so good! We were all so proud of them. The movie we watched was called The Star about the nativity of Jesus and it was precious! It really put the meaning of Christmas in perspective. I left with my heart full of the love of Jesus. After the movies we were able to buy 8 pairs of brand new shoes for some of our kids in desperate need. At the end we included socks for each of them (a few of them didn t even have socks on today). We let them go into the shoe store and pick out any pair of tennis shoes they wanted. The smiles on their faces were priceless. I don t know how many times I was asked, Are these too much? or Can I really pick out any pair? They were so excited and grateful to receive this wonderful Christmas gift from our church. Words cannot describe how much joy was in their little faces and how excited they were! This really is the true meaning of Christmas and I thank you all so much for making it possible! This is truly the best Christmas for me yet.
