Light in Darkness: God s Presence in Hope and Love September 15-17, 2017 Registration Deadline: September 1, 2017 Beverly Fournier This weekend retreat centers on the experience of God s presence in hope and love in the midst of our deepest trials and darkest times. Through guided meditation, lectio divina, gentle reflective sharing and song, retreatants will ease and quiet their brokenness so we can fully embrace the mystery of God s presence in our lives. Creatures of the Same God September 23, 2017 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Registration Deadline: Sept. 16, 2017 Sr. Lucille Thibodeau, p.m. More and more we hear stories about all kinds of animals in the news. Sadly, too many of these stories are about vulnerability and cruelty. What do the Gospels tell us about Jesus and animals? What have saints said about animals and done for them. Why has there been a narrowing of concern for animals for hundreds of years in our Christian tradition? What do some well-known Christians, such as Pope Francis, tell us about our responsibilities towards animals? After looking at these questions, we will close the day with a prayer service for these creatures of God and the people who care for them. Cost: $50 (includes $30 registration fee) September 29 October 1, 2017 Registration Deadline: Sept. 15, 2017 Relax And Knit October 27-29, 2017 Registration Deadline: October 13, 201 Connie Bartelson Join the Holy Knitters Prayer Shawl Ministry as we joyfully share in the care of God's people by using the gifts of our hands to knit or crochet sacred prayer shawls. Dr. Stephanie Rutt In this workshop, we will journey through the labyrinth of the soul, exploring the seven mansions of St. Teresa s inner castle. It is no ordinary love that compels us, for soon we realize that the ultimate sacrifice is required: the gift of our self so we may experience our birth in Christ. Yet, together, we step inward holding fast to St. Teresa s assurance, Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All passes away except God and God is sufficient. Come and step into the center of your being. Explore with reflection, sharing, walking, movement, dance, contemplative prayer practice, journaling and drawing. Together, we will discover the inner crystal, a beauty that passes all understanding.
