ANNOUNCEMENTS Join us after the 10:30 service in the church library of all interest in planning the 2018 Outreach Garden Meeting, Sunday, March 18. The Wednesday Evening Lent Series 2018 - Fr. Peter will take us through various chapters of C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. This now classic work, through the writings of "the evil one" to one of his minions - Wormwood - instructs the latter how to knock the good Christian off of his or her path. As we figuratively walk in darkness in Lent, this liturgical season is the perfect time to remember how to combat the darkness that encroaches upon our faith. These gatherings will each include a light meal provided by volunteers, the discussion, and Evening Prayer. They will be held on Wednesdays, March 21 and 28 from 6:15pm - 7:30pm. You may pick up the book at your local bookstore, or obtain an e-book version from an entity such as amazon. A sign-up sheet will be available near the coat rack, including a space for folks to volunteer to provide soup and bread, set-up and clean up for each evening. Illustrated Lent for Families This year the church has An Illustrated Lent for Families, which includes devotionals, activity sheets, and coloring sheets for families to use together as they journey through Lent. This plan offers seven weeks of family devotions that are simple, but meaningful. They are based on the Gospel readings from the Revised

Common Lectionary for Lent. Each devotion includes a brief reflection, discussion question, activity, and prayer per week. Copies are available on the entrance-way table. March Book Group Selection St. Christopher's Book Discussion Group will meet to discuss Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles on Tuesday, March 20, in the church library. The story takes place in Russia in 1922. The protagonist, the aristocrat Count Rostov, has been sentenced to house arrest by a Bolshevik tribunal. He must spend his days in an attic room of a hotel across the street from the Kremlin and passively watch the dramatic changes in his country. He, however, begins to turn inward and gain a deeper understanding of himself. Everyone is welcome! Contact Janet Bush or Christine Meloni for more information. Grounds Cleanup Day for Holy Week On Saturday, March 24th, we will be having a Grounds Cleanup Day from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. There will be hot coffee, water and breakfast snacks provided. The grounds are actually in pretty good condition, but could use a few good rakes and general attention. We'll also be putting some flowers in place for Easter. Whether you are here for 5 minutes or 4 hours, your time is very valuable to us and will go a long way in getting us ready for the season. Children's Church Volunteer Opportunities For those of you curious about what the children's ministry is and how to help, the SignUp Genius is open until June 10, Youth Sunday and Volunteer Appreciation Day. Lots of fun left in the next few months, ECHO garden planting, Earth Day nature walk and lesson, and Youth/Volunteer Appreciation Sunday. If you have any questions or would like to observe the lesson, feel free to contact Megan Coffey (megcoffey05@yahoo.com) or Tamara O'Neil (tamara_oneil@yahoo.com). http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0948a8a62ca3fe3-20172018
