In approximately, six weeks, we will be celebrating another Harvest Festival. As always, you will not be disappointed. Help spread the word bring everyone including long lost cousins. There will a farmer s market, silent auction, bucket raffle, hog raffle, big ticket raffle, ham and meatball dinner, hamburger stand, entertainment, games for all ages, beverages and a few surprises. Some new things this year. Wine Pull. If anyone would be willing to donate a bottle of wine or two, or three or more, that would be great. For more info, please contact Patti Hayes at 228-8954 German Potato Salad will be added to the Hamburger stand on a trial basis if it goes over well, it may be continued for years to come. Parishioner Bonus Giveaway In honor of the 75 th Anniversary, $75 will be given out during 10 different times during the Festival. This special drawing is for current parishioners only who work and/or attend the festival on August 13 th. Current parishioners will need to sign up for this drawing at the festival itself, but do not need to be present to win. The Parish Admin Council, along with the approval of Msgr. Grams wanted a way to give back to the parish members as a thank you for being a viable part of our church. Once again, you must be a current member of St. Gregory s, attend or work at the Harvest Festival on August 13 th and have to sign yourself up the day of the festival. DONATIONS ARE NEEDED. Make sure to properly mark all items as to which area they are intended for i.e. Bucket raffle, Silent Auction, etc. All fresh produce, cakes, farmers market items can be dropped off Saturday AM, August 12 or the morning of August 13 th. For Food Safety concerns, we cannot accept any items that need REFRIGERATION. Don t forget the other donations that we kindly ask everyone to contribute. These are listed in your packet.

Thank you very much to everyone who participated in and donated to the Baby Bottle and Layette Campaign for First Choice Pregnancy Services of New Ulm. Your donations and support are greatly appreciated. Many blessings ~ Carol Hoffmann and Patti Hayes Thank you to all the parishioners who so kindly donated towards this year s Diocesan Ministry Appeal (DMA) project of replacing unsafe walkways. The concrete is completed thanks to the contractor and members of Administrative Council. Our 75 th Anniversary Year goes on..several items are in the works to make sure we continue to celebrate the connection we have not only within our Parish Family, but also our community family. Here are two events to take place.. 1. For 75 years the community of Lafayette has supported us and now we want to say thank you. On Friday, July 7 th, St. Gregory s Admin Council will be offering all parish and community members a simple and free meal at the Lafayette Community Center. The Meal will consist of a BBQ Sandwich, chips, beans, pickles, a cookie and a beverage. 2. On September 17 th we will round out the year by offering a Parish Family meal on a Sunday afternoon. St Gregory the Great CCW met May 4, 2017, at the parish rectory. Meeting called to order with 9 ladies present. Mark Schuelke - St Gregory Admin Council presented a cake in thanks for all the CCW does for the parish. Agenda was approved. Secretaries minutes approved. Treasurers report approved. Checking $5633.25 Savings 10,845.89; MMS to accept report Correspondence - Thank yous from John Hayes and Sibley County Food Share Reports - World Day of Prayer ( 3/3) was attended by 2 ladies CCW Bingo (3/12) Carol reported. Weather was bad but had a fair turnout. Sold boxed lunch to carry out. Well received. Sold approximately 20 carry outs. Region 1 CCW Spring meeting - Maggie reported on Heartland Ranch. Will find a list of needs. Church cleaning - approximately 4 women helped. John Hayes brunch fundraiser(4/23) was well attended. NUDCCW Convention at Sleepy Eye St Marys (4/29) 2 attended Reported that linen ladies feel they need more training Mark Dick is working on leaky faucet in kitchen

More discussion will follow with information available. St Gregory s will host a Community Summer Appreciation on July 7 at Lafayette Community Center. Sheri L will plan with help as needed. John Hayes fundraiser - MMS to give amount to total $5000.00 (to be determined later) Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery - MMS to donate $100.00 Adjourn Closing Prayer Program: Service Commission : Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery- MMS to give $100 donation Next Meeting - July 6, 2017 Hostess - Sara Wieland Secretary, Carol J Hoffmann St Gregory the Great Administrative Council Meeting Minutes Friday May 5, 2017 Mark Schuelke called the meeting to order. Members present were: Carol Hoffmann, Pam Morson, Cheri LeBrun, Mark Schuelke, Sheri Liebl, Carl Oswald, Laurie Platz. Missing: Monsignor Grams, Alex Platz, Linda Beranek, Rich Scheuer This meeting was a continuation of the one held on April 20th that did not get completed. NEW BUSINESS: Rectory Downspouts insurance issue: Mark Schuelke and Rich Scheurer are looking into options for this. Maintenance list for Karl Lindquist is on the frig in the social hall. Karl looks at this for things that need to be completed... The administrative council would like to get a vitality and evangelization committee together to really promote St Gregory s Catholic Church. Suggestions would be to host a day trip to West Bend IA to visit the Grotto, or have special speakers during different times of the year. We need to get a brochure to the City Clerk to hand out to newcomers to town, also would like a spot on the city facebook page possibly linking back to the AFC website. We need to become more visible in the community. Carol picked up a couple of brochures from other churches that she is going to share with the council. The end of June is Mark Schuelke s term completion, Carol Hoffmann is also up, but said she will agree to another term.m/s/p to nominate Laurie Platz as president of council and Cheri LeBrun as Secretary. A request has been made to close the Youth group checking account. M/S/P instead of closing to give $10 to each of the servers for the annual server Valleyfair trip and remaining back to the general fund. A request to close statute savings account was made M/S/P to bring suggestions to the next meeting for statues to be spent on. Other suggestions were used for purchase of a nice crucifix, or memorial for unborn babies area at cemetery. Decision will be made at June meeting. Harvest Festival: M/S/P to add a special drawing for the church workers, $75 will be drawn every hour for anyone that worked that day.
