Marriage Weekend The weekend of February 6/7 in all parishes of the Archdiocese of Toronto has been designated as Marriage Sunday. A special weekend for Married Couples, Widows, Widower s. We will invite all married couples to renew their wedding vows during Mass at the same time we will pray for those preparing for marriage as well as all widows and widower s. Our prayers will also embrace those who are separated, divorced and facing troubles in their relationships. Take a Stroll Down Memory Lane Please join us on the weekend of February 6/7 for a Coffee after all the Masses. Join in the celebration of the Marriage Weekend by bringing in a photocopy of your wedding picture by January 31 st. Give to a welcomer or drop off at the parish office with Bride and Grooms name and Brides maiden name. They will be displayed in the hall on the weekend of February 6/7 2016. Marriage Preparation Program A Marriage Preparation course will be held at St. Columbkille Parish Hall, beginning Friday, April 8, Saturday, April 9 and ending on Sunday, April 10, 2016 following 11:00 am Mass. Sunday Brunch The Knights of Columbus will host a Sunday Brunch this Sunday, January 31 immediately following the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses. Come out and enjoy a delicious and economical Sunday breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages, peameal bacon, potato, juice and desserts with coffee and tea. Cost: adults $5.00, children 6 to 12 $3.00 and Children 5 and under free. The Knights of Columbus next monthly meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, February 2. The Executive meeting at 6:30 pm followed by the General meeting at 7:00 pm. Please pray for those in our community who are sick and for those who have gone to be with the Lord: Archbishop Bohan; Joan Cranney; Tom Halpin; Peter Knowlson; Deacon McNeil and for victims of recent world tragedies.

Evangelization: Asia That opportunities may increase for dialogue and encounter between the Christian faith and the peoples of Asia. Public Speaking Contest The Mary Matthews Public Speaking Contest sponsored by the CWL will take place on Monday, February 1 at 7:00 pm in the Guardian Angels Church Hall. Students from Notre Dame and St. Bernard Schools will be competing. We are inviting parishioners to come out and support these students. Refreshments will be provided. The winner will go on to participate in the Northern Region Contest which will be held on February 28 at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church in Bradford. The next Catholic Women s League Meeting will be Monday, February 8. Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 pm followed by a Valentine Red Hat and Ugly Sweater Social. Come and have some fun. Lenten Retreat A wonderful retreat is coming to our Churches on Saturday, February 20. This will be Hosted at Sacred Heart Church, Warminster. The retreat, Lent, The Road to New Life, will be led by Jim Dunn of the Archdiocese Office of Formation. Plan to attend from 10:00 am 2:00 pm, lunch provided. Reconciliation will be available during the day. Space is limited so register after Masses; there is no feee just a free-will offering. Invite a friend. Beginning Monday, February 29 to Friday, March 4, 2016. The Vatican International Exhibition is comprised of a set of 173 posters about miracles related to the Eucharist that have happened around the world. The verified accounts date from as early as the 3 rd Century, with the latest date being 2008. Its purpose is to increase the awareness of the real presence of our Lord in the Eucharist: the consecrated bread becomes his Body and the consecrated wine becomes His Blood! (John 6:56). The celebration will begin with an opening Mass Monday, February 29 at 12:10 pm. The Exhibit will be open daily from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
