Literary Activities held during the academic year 215-16 17-18-19 August 215 held at. 15 September 215 - Essay Competition on Hyderabad Karnataka Liberation Movement organized by Gulbarga University College Retired Teachers Association. Five students participated. 22 September 215 - Commemorating 32 nd Punyasmaranotsava Celebration of Lingaikkya Parama Poojya Doddapppa Appa. Several competitions were conducted. Elocution, Essay Writing, Music and Fine Art competitions were conducted on the Divine Life of Poojya Doddappa Appa. Prizes were awarded on the Punyatithi Day celebrations. The best speaker was sent for the Elocution competition held by the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha. On the Punyasmaranothstava Day the following programme was organised. Smt. As per the circular from the University Grants Commission the following events were organized in our college. 1...Lecture on The Life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the country s freedom struggle by Prof. B.Ramreddy, Dept. Of Political Science, Retired Principal. He also gave a talk on our Antarvani FM 9.8 Community Radio,. A live discussion was made by the Antarvani Director, Dr. Shivraj Heroor, Dept. of Kannada from our college. A report was sent to Prof. Dr. Jaspal S.Sandhu, Secretary, UGC, New Delhi. 9 January 216 Elocution competition was conducted by Dr. Ambedkar College,. Ms. Uma Mahshetty, B.Com IV Sem and Poojaya U. 4 March 216 Essay Writing, Singing, Elocution and Caption writing competitions were held by All India Mahila Samskruti Sanghatane under the auspices of International Women s Day celebrations. Twelve students participated and received participation awards. 9 March 216 Pujya Godutai Awwaji s Punyatithi was observed. Pof. Mahananda Diggaonkar, Retd teacher of our institution was the Chief Guest. Few staff members also spoke on the Divine life of Awwaji as experienced by them. Principal, Dr. Neelambika Sherikar was the President of the function. Prizes were distributed to students of Fine Arts for their paintings on Awwaji.
