Barack Obama and the Middle East

Cairo Speech June 4, 2009 I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world; one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles - principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.

Obama s Red Line for Assad August 21, 2012 We have been very clear to the Assad regime, but also to other players on the ground, that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized. That would change my calculus. That would change my equation.

Iran Nuclear Disarmament Deal Iran Allow greater access to weapons inspectors Cap the level of uranium enrichment Halt new sanctions 6 World Powers Easing of existing sanctions Washington Post 12/7/2013

What does this mean? Nuclear technology and uranium enrichment is our definite right. But progress, better living conditions and welfare for the people is also our definite right. Breaking and dismantling the architecture of the ominous and oppressive sanctions is also our definite right. -President Rouhani (12/6/2013)
