What s Happening at Church of the Foothills August Newsletter Correction: In the August edition of The Connection (our monthly newsletter) an incorrect date of August 23 was provided for the Picnic on the Patio, Baptisms, and Child Dedications. Please be sure to mark your calendars with the correct date of Sunday, September23 for this event. Summer Missions Celebration: Join us TODAY at 6pm in the Worship Center as we celebrate the teams sent out all over the world this summer. Also, be sure to stick around afterward for ice cream sundaes! Family Camp: Family Camp is August 17-19 at Union Valley Lake! Spend time with the family and friends, and get to know other church families. Enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, and a group dinner Saturday night hosted by the Men of the Foothills, plus a Sunday morning devotion time. Women s Fall Bible Study: Starting the week of September 10, the Women s Bible Study will begin their journey through Beth Moore s James: Mercy Triumphs. This will be a fun night of comedy for anyone age 16+, with childcare available for ages 0-5 by rsvp. Early Bird tickets will be available for $8 each at the church office August 1-18. Pre-sale tickets will be available for $10 on the patio between services August 19 & 26. Tickets at the door will be $12. Golf Tournament: Saturday, September 22 is Men of the Foothills 11th Annual Apple Mountain Golf Resort Golf Tournament. This event is open to ALL (men and women) and is a great opportunity to bring your spouse, friend, coworker, or neighbor. Sign up on the patio. Community Information Women of Faith Conference: On October 26 & 27 at Power Balance Pavillion, compelling stories, authentic worship, and more come together for an inspiring experience. Lineup: Sheila Walsh, Lisa Harper, and more encouraging speakers with concerts by Selah and CeCe Winans. Tickets are $89 each or special pricing of $71 for Teachers and Military Families. For the Young Hearted: Our Sunday School classes need more teachers and assistants - with an urgent need in our preschool classrooms! Please pray about joining the fun in the Education Center one Sunday a month to serve our youngest attendees and their parents. Contact Dee at the church office. Nursery Need: For those who enjoy the littlest ones, our Nursery needs a volunteer to take on the 11am shift one Sunday a month. Please contact Holly at the church office for details. Compassion Ministry Assistance Available: We exist to help those in our church body who are going through a difficult time. We are concerned that people who have a need are not being cared for. Please remember, if you don t call - we can t help! If you or someone you know needs assistance in the way of a meal, a hospital visit, etc. please call Barbara Fossgreen at (530) 626-6486. Prayer Chain: Please email your Prayer Chain requests to prayer@cotf.org. Compassionate Cooks Needed: Have a kitchen and know how to cook? Join the team and help those in our church during a time of need. We have many Meal Team spots open that we desperately need to fill! The level of commitment is up to you - when called to prepare a meal, say yes or no depending on your availability that week. If you can t help, no problem. Church Information AWANA Registration: The 2012-2013 Awana Year will begin on Tuesday, August 28th! Volunteer & Priority Registration is TODAY on the patio 9-11am. All registered Awana Volunteers may take advantage of priority registration for their children. Open Registration is Sundays, August 12, 19, and 26 on the patio 9am - 1pm.
