Dorothy Richards from Glasco, New York will begin on Monday, January 8, 2018. Ms. Richards has an extensive background in office and managerial skills and will be an excellent addition to our St. Joseph s Community. We encourage you to stop and meet Dorothy Richards as she begins her new job. Also, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Carol Geary for her unending commitment to our Parish and Ann Burns for her voluntary service on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Wade. St. Pope John Paul II has said that "prayer is the most powerful force in human history!" The prayer vigil will be at Saint Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday, January 21, 2018, beginning with Holy Mass at 5:30 p.m., followed by Adoration with music by the Sisters of Life. For those who could not be present at the March for Life in Washington D.C., this event offers a local pilgrimage for the building up of the culture of life in our nation. FAMILY MASS AT ST. JOSEPH S The Family Mass at St. Joseph s is a wonderful way for families young and old to participate in prayer and worship together. This Mass supports the Religious Education program with seasonal and grade level liturgies throughout the year. The Family Mass is held on Sundays at 10am. Parish Mission 2018 LENTEN Theme: Walking in the Dark, Living in the Light Mission begins with preaching at the Sunday Masses (February 17-18) Then continues for the following three days and nights (February 19-20-21). St. Joseph s Church, 242 Wall Street, Kingston NY Monday Theme: We are a people of darkness and light. Through the power of God s word, Monday morning talk after Mass and the evening prayer service invites participants to consider how experiences of darkness and light exist in all our lives, and how God s Word helps us to name, recognize, and understand how even the darkness can be an invitation to open ourselves to the grace and presence of God. Tuesday: Christ as the Light in our darkness The importance of recognizing both brokenness and sin as part of our lives as well as the light that comes into our lives by the healing celebration of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
