#morethansight CHALLENGE DARKNESS EXPLORE THE UNSEEN DISCOVER MELBOURNE LIKE NEVER BEFORE Proudly brought to you by

Dialogue in the Dark is an experience where you are led by a guide who is blind through the darkness. You learn to interact and communicate by relying on other senses. This is a completely immersive exhibition where you don t see, but experience. Your journey in the dark will heighten your senses, and give them new meaning. The roles are reversed as sighted people are taken out of their familiar environment. Guides who are blind support you to move through every day experiences in a world without pictures. The tour lasts about an hour, but the effects are life-changing. Dialogue in the Dark gives you the chance to realise just how much you can achieve, adapt to change and overcome the familiar. As a visitor to Dialogue in the Dark you will have the chance to walk in the shoes of someone who is blind, and understand that having a level of vision loss is not a disability, it s simply different. ARE YOU READY TO CHALLENGE DARKNESS? #morethansight

ABOUT DIALOGUE IN THE DARK (TM) Dialogue in the Dark was founded by social entrepreneur, Andreas Heinecke in Hamburg, 1988. An encounter with a blind journalist changed his life; he learned to understand the true potential of an individual who is blind or has low vision, and went on to create Dialogue in the Dark. This immersive experience provides people with sight to enter into dialogue with a person who is blind and challenge themselves to undertake every day experiences, in the dark. Today, Dialogue in the Dark has been experienced by more than 10 million visitors worldwide, and as a social enterprise, has employed upwards of 10,000 people with blindness or partial blindness.

Dialogue in the Dark gives more people the chance to challenge their own limits, overcome boundaries, and discover hidden potential. BUSINESS WORKSHOPS The best way to discover and nurture the untapped potential of any individual lies outside the usual routine. The Dialogue in the Dark half day workshop of individual and team activities is conducted in complete darkness, and delivered by trainers who are blind. Workshops include a wide range of exercises in darkness, where participants face unpredictable situations similar to many business landscapes. Individuals are confronted with themselves, others, and most importantly, the unknown. SCHOOL PROGRAMS Our educational workshops are designed for primary and secondary school students. Students will learn: Empathy (understanding how people who are blind interact in day-to-day life) Non-visual communication (speaking and listening skills) Confidence (overcoming fears) Self-awareness (of who and what they are). SPECIAL EVENTS Dialogue in the Dark is a unique venue for your next event or gathering. CONTACT US To find out more phone 03 9854 4560 or email dialogueinthedark@guidedogsvictoria.com.au
