Page 2 The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph My beloved Parishioners of St. Kilian, As we begin 2019, let me take this opportunity to wish you a blessed and wonderful New Year! I cannot help but reflect on the year that I spent with you; praying with you and for you, celebra ng the most beau ful mysteries of our faith and sharing the precious gi s of our Lord s sacred Body and Blood. One thing I can say with an utmost sincere and joyful heart is that I am so proud of our St. Kilian faith community and am truly humbled by the opportunity to serve you. God is doing marvelous works in our midst and is filling us with greater hope and deeper love. We have grown in many beau ful ways and are being transformed by His Spirit to reflect His very image in which we are created. We have become a more kind, generous, loving, and welcoming community. As we step into the new year with great hope and expecta on, let us remember that God is constantly calling us to grow in holiness. The Scripture reminds us to be holy for our God is holy. On Christmas Day you received a gi from our parish, Mathew Kelly s book The Greatest Lie in the History of Chris anity. The world we live in tells us that it s not possible to be holy but God calls us to holiness. Who do we believe: God or the world? God would not call us to holiness if it is impossible for us. The one who calls us to holiness will also supply the necessary graces to reach that goal. We have already begun our journey of transforma on into a Dynamic Parish. I would personally encourage you to be more open to the Holy Spirit as He leads and transforms our parish. Thank you for being a part of this ini a ve. Let us believe that God has big dreams for our lives and for our beloved community. May this new year be a year of realizing those dreams as we con nue to grow in holiness. May Mary, our blessed Mother and the Mother of God, intercede for us always. Much love & prayers, Fr. Angelos Did you receive your copy of The Biggest Lie this Christmas? Life is messy. People get sick. People lose their jobs. People have money problems. People have addictions. People have trouble in their marriage. Parents have children go off the path, go back on the path, go off the path again. And one of things that God does...he comes into the middle of the mess and is passionate about transforming us one at a time. The book, The Biggest Lie in the History of Christianity, sounds like it s a book about lies. But the reality is, it s a book about the truth and at the heart of God s plan for the world, is transforming people you and I, one at a time. And that s what the book is about. It s a book about God s dream for you, God s dream for me, God s dream for humanity, and God s dream for Christianity and the role of Christianity in the World. Please stop by the parish office if you have yet to receive your copy.

Good Samaritan Ministry is BACK! Thanks to the generosity of two of our parishioners, Denise Hall and Jonni McConkey, we hope to restart our Good Samaritan Ministry in 2019! Good Samaritan Ministers will offer rides to Mass for those in our community who are no longer able to drive. If you are interested in becoming involved in this ministry, we invite you to attend a meeting on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Parish Center. We will go over the requirements for becoming a Good Samaritan Minister and provide all of the information that you need to help our parishioners come to Mass so they can celebrate the Eucharist WITH US! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mary Mack in the Parish Office at 949-586-4440 or mmack@stkilianchurch.org. Make a New Year s Resolution to GET INVOLVED!
