THE FOUNDRY CHURCH Love God. Love People. Create Community Best. Year. Yet. That s what we are believing for, FoundryFam! We re coming up on 4 years since the start of The Foundry Church where we've made it a practice to Love God, Love People & Create Community. I have to be honest, it hasn t been easy, but nothing great is easily achieved. As I ve been praying for my own life and your lives too, the story of Nehemiah keeps coming to mind. Nehemiah was a 5th century messenger of God whose message was one of hope and rebuilding to the remnant of Jewish people who had returned to Jerusalem after their exile. While serving as cupbearer to the King of Persia, God had placed on the heart of Nehemiah to head to Jerusalem to rebuild the city and its people. The Jewish people found themselves in a broken-down city without the essential protection needed to continue as a thriving people under God s direction and care. Nehemiah s call started with the rebuilding of the outer perimeter protective wall that had ensured the safety of God s people in times past. The walls were impressively rebuilt in just a short fifty-two days! What s unique about this initial project was that Nehemiah pulled the people together and gave them ownership over certain sections, gates and parts of the project. Not only was safety restored, but ownership was instilled. The people of Israel once again had protection that set them and their city apart to the praise and honor of God. I believe Morgantown is a unique city that God desires to do unique things in and thorough. I also believe that God has brought ALL of us here to perform a unique task with the distinctive gifts that He has given to all of us. As Nehemiah was trusted to ensure the safety of the King of Persia with the tasting of food and drink as the cupbearer, we have been trusted with smaller things as God is unveiling the larger dreams and visions that he has for The Foundry Church and YOU. Will you continue to join in with me as we are joined with our Heavenly Father in the Kingdom Work that he has assigned to us? We are poised to do the great work of rebuilding this city from the inside out as we are placed right in the heart of it. My greatest takeaway that I received as I read and prayed over this phenomenal story of this man of God on mission with his people was that even when opposition was tremendously stacked against Nehemiah and the people of God, they stayed the course. The opposition schemed to stop the rebuilding of the people of God and His 1

city by devising a plan to encourage Nehemiah to stop his great work for a meeting. However, Nehemiah was keen to their deceptive plans. His response to his opposed foes was so clear as he spoke in his namesake book of the Old Testament in the sixth chapter, in verse three, I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave to go down to you? Foundry Family, we are doing a great work and we cannot step down, away or apart from it. We don t know exactly what the future holds for this church, but we know the One who holds it. So, let us continue to firmly grasp His hand as He leads, guides and directs us each step of the way. WE are doing a great work and we cannot depart from it. If we all continue with this better yet, HIS heart and passion, 2019 will be the Best. Year. Yet. Blessings, Pastor Justin Dates to Remember WOMEN S SOUP SWAP Hey Ladies! Always looking for good recipes? Ready for an evening with friends on a cold winter night? Any questions contact Kara at kara@thefoundrywv.com COFFEE UPDATE Good news! We have seen many new people step up to serve in the cafe through making coffee THANK YOU!! There has been a need there for quite some time and we are thankful to see so many getting involved. Who doesn t love a warm cup of coffee when they arrive at church for Sunday service?!?! We have always desired to have coffee be a part of our Sunday experience. Good conversation and great ministry seem to revolve around coffee, some say it makes the world go around! (LOL) But, in all seriousness we love being able to provide our Foundy Fam with FREE coffee! The thing is it s definitely not free. Last year we spent nearly 3,000 in coffee and coffee supplies. We always want to be good stewards of our finances so this year we are asking you to help offset the cost of coffee. How can you help? Drop some quarters or even a dollar in the donation box on Sundays when you get your morning joe. As always, THANK YOU for all that you do to make The Foundry a warm and inviting place. We love you all and coffee! 3

PARTNERSHIP CLASS Here at The Foundry we call traditional membership > partnership. We believe that you are partnering with us to accomplish God s will for our church. Much of the planning for this week is all ready under way but a few still need to be finalized. Please stay tuned to hear more details of this week. We will send out emails and share all details through social media. It is going to be a great way to love our community and invite them to hear the story of the resurrection on Easter Sunday. 6

Worship Events BAPTISM SERVICE We will be celebrating baptism every other month on the last Sunday of that month. If you desire to take the next step in your faith then contact Pastor Drew at drew@thefoundrywv.com and let him know. He will give you all the details that you need to understand this next step in your faith journey. Baptism dates will be February 24th and April 28th SOVEREIGN CELEBRATION DAY! We are so beyond excited that we have finished the church planting process through our denomination, The Assemblies of God. This means that we will be established as a fully functioning sovereign church with the Assemblies. This truly is an amazing accomplishment and we owe it all to Jesus, who has carried us these past 4 years! Sadly, many church plants never get to this point. We want to celebrate all that God has done on March 24th with one big service at 10:30. Our kids and families will be a part of this service, as we don t want anyone to miss the celebration of this day. There will be many surprises, guest speaker, special worship and lots more!!
