A limited number of paper copies will be available in the bar. The Fourth of July parade went well and thanks to everyone who helped make it a success. Great job Color Guard! The pavilion is in progress and we are waiting for the architect to stamp the drawings. If you know anyone who wants to join the Post, see Tom Slowinski. Membership is going well thanks Tom! A special thanks to all the bartenders for pitching in and helping everyone in their shifts. Good teamwork! Mark Jones, Commander

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE The 2014 Membership drive is in full swing with about 1/3 of our roughly 155 Legion Members paid up as Early Birds for 2014. Thank you for your prompt reaction to maintain your full-fledged membership in this great organization. Anyone that you may know who DID NOT receive a renewal form for 2014 please advise me when you see me at the Post or call me at 609-577- 5815. Also, in the future, you may want to consider being a PUFL member, which is a Paid Up For Life member. As a PUFL, you do not have to worry about sending a membership check every year. You will pay more to be a lifetime member but you will have no yearly transactions in the future and you will have peace of mind knowing that your membership is good for your lifetime, even if you move on to greener pastures. Thanks again for your continued support, God Bless you all and BE SAFE.. Tom Slowinski CHAPLAIN S REPORT Remember our departed veterans who have passed away. In Memoriam: Eternal Father, we call upon you for all who mourn for the loss of those near and dear to them. Be forever near them, and draw them into closer fellowship with you, and grant them sure trust and confidence in your fatherly care. Remember our departed members in your prayers. Pray for all of those now serving our Country and all those who gave their lives to make our Country a safe place to live in. Amen COLOR GUARD REPORT I would like to thank the Commander for giving me the opportunity to represent Post 314 as the Color Guard Captain. This is personal honor for me to accept this position and I look forward to taking on this significant responsibility. I would also like to thank the former Color Guard Captain Gary Duncan for his many years of service at the helm of this tasking and for allowing me to take over in a seamless fashion. Well done Gary! Over the last month or so our Post Colors were displayed at several events: the March of Dimes Walk in Veterans Park, Hamilton Township, the Trenton Thunder pre-game National Anthem Color Guard at Waterfront Park, the Gazebo dedication at the Ewing Township Memorial Park, and the Post 314 Home Memorial Day services. These were all very nice occasions and I believe we represented ourselves in a grand military fashion! Anyone interested in participating with us in the Color Guard, in any capacity, not just parade day Please feel free to call me anytime on my cell, 609-306-7297 and leave me your name and contact information and I will get back to you ASAP. Faithfully for God and Country, Timothy Leary SERVICE OFFICER REPORT No report received. Post 314 is available for services at the Funeral Home if requested by the family. Call Post 314 at 609-637-9188. Mark Jones, Commander

I would like to take a moment and extend our sincerest condolences to Kaye Lynch for the loss of her mother and Post member for the loss of his brother. We also wish Dominick Varra a speedy recovery from his fall. You are all in our prayers. I apologize for the confusion over this past year regarding membership. Note: Anyone who has sent in their renewal or new membership and have NOT received any response, please contact me for further assistance. I assure everyone that I will work closely with the membership chairperson to resolve any unsettled issues. As you all may be aware, Post 314 Ladies Aux. did not participate in the National Poppy Drive in May. I again must apologize because it is due to reasons I cannot even fully understand. I would, however, like to thank all of you who expressed concern and still wished to make a donation. This is a very important fundraiser as the monies raised allow us to assist veterans and their families in ways needed throughout the year. approval from SAL Commander Dave O Rorke, the Auxiliary will be running a LIVE AUCTION BAKE OFF at the picnic this year. Auction items to bid on during the auction will include dishes like Josie s Apple Walnut Raisin Cake or Kenny Allen s Noodle Ricotta Pie, Dottie s Baked Beans and many, many more. You must come and see! A live auction is fun to participate in, as well as watch. Look for more details around the Post in August. Anyone with a Famous Family Recipe who would like to make a donation, please contact me for further information. This fundraiser will make up for our Poppy Drive that we unfortunately missed in May. Keep up the good work everyone! See you in September and have a safe and cool remainder of the summer. Proudly -, Mary Leary, President AUXILIARY MEMBERSHIP Hello Ladies Just a reminder that dues are due. Remember that dues have gone up to $21.00 for seniors and $4.00 for juniors.
