Saint Jude Catholic School www.stjudefw.org December 1, 2015 Happy Advent! December has begun as has the season of Advent. Advent is the season of waiting and preparation. Waiting and preparing for! We clean and decorate the house, put up the tree, bake cookies, send cards, and do lots of shopping. We look forward to that big day when we celebrate with family and friends all those traditions that make this time special to us. This is very fitting and appropriate, but it is more important for us to remember the true meaning of Advent as explained in the New Catholic Encyclopedia. During the 4 weeks of Advent we are asked to: prepare ourselves worthily to celebrate the anniversary of the Lord's coming into the world as the incarnate God of love make our soul a fitting home for the Redeemer coming in Holy Communion make ourselves ready for His final coming as judge, at our death and at the end of the world. This is a good reminder that whatever we do in preparation for the Holidays to remember that Jesus is the Reason for the season! I hope you all have a wonderful Advent.
