Knights In Service to our pastor, Fr. M A R Y S C O U N C I L 1 1 0 9 3, L O N G V I E W T X Knights of Columbus I m sure when he gets settled in, he ll be contributing his words of wisdom and inspiration to us in upcoming newsletters. Steve Carden, Grand Knight Past Diocesan Deputy Our Past Diocesan Deputy, Bill Elliott, has stepped down from this post but is still heavily involved in the Knights of Columbus as the new State Council s Charity Fundraising Chairman and the Diocesan contact for Seminarian and Vocation Support. Steve Carden, Grand Knight Quotation from the Bible for Today Acts 20:35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Bill Elliott

Grand Knight Steve Carden 903-241-4854/e-mail: shadowbabe98@gmail.com Dear Brother Knights, It s been a busy time for me learning about what is involved with being a Grand Knight. The learning curve is real steep and there is still a lot more for me to know. I m was hoping to meet everyone along this journey or at least to talk with each of you on the phone. I sent out a membership survey by e-mail a few weeks back but have heard from only one Knight. I am interested in what you think of the direction our Council is going and what ideas you may have. Just like the upcoming elections in November, you need to vote to express yourself, therefore, come to the next meeting and let your voice be heard. God bless, Steve Carden Highlights from the August 2012 Business Meeting A 1st Degree was held and two members from the Marshall Council were brought into the Knights', Joseph Wrotny & Reverend Father Edward Fernando. In memory of the passing of Deacon Tim O'Neill St. Mary's Knights of Columbus Council #11093, donated $50 in his name to the Diocese of Tyler Deaconate program.
