Glenwood Leadership for 2015 Our purpose is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through: Outreach, Worship, Study, Relationships and Service. Charge Conference 11/16/14 I. Church Council Duties: (membership: Para. 251.5) Members of the council shall be persons of genuine Christian character who love the church, are morally disciplined, are committed to the mandate of inclusiveness in the life of the church, are loyal to the ethical standards of the UMC as set forth in the Social Principles and are competent to administer its affairs. Directs the actions of the administrative and programmatic committees and insures that they are working to obtain the goals and objectives of the church. Changes church structure and assigns committees as necessary to implement goals. Determines which program chair oversees any new activity in the church. Directs resources to the ministries of the church, particularly by adopting and adjusting the yearly budget and by reviewing the monthly calendar. Interprets church policy and approves all policy changes. Approves church leadership changes occurring at times other than at charge conference. Meets on the third Tuesday of every month. Investigate any claim of Child Abuse or Sexual Harassment according to the guidelines of Glenwood s C.A.S.H. policy.
