MAY 05, 2015 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR The Parsonage Project After just over 5 months the parsonage kitchen is now complete. Many of you had the opportunity to walk through it in its completed form this past Sunday. What an adventure it has been and a relief that it is completed. We hope you are as excited about it as we are. I have always found many similarities between remodeling and church revitalization. We always start with something that has potential and decide if we want to undertake the project. We come up with a purpose of the project. Often we must tear back some layers to see what is underneath. Many times we need to see if things need to be upgraded and/or changed to make it better at the end of the project. We begin construction and proceed at a pace that provides good progress with only some disruption along the way. More than likely some tweaking to the project along the way is a forgone conclusion. Of course, the hope is that we complete the remodeling project and that we get a chance to relax. This is where church life and remodeling head in different directions. The church needs to continually redefine itself as society changes. Now, I am not saying to compromise the Gospel message; but rather we must remodel or change how we present it to the world. Evaluate why we do what we do and how we do it. Many churches still try to use methods that were valid decades ago to reach people who weren t even alive then. Largely it does not work. Simplification is one of the keys to sustainable longterm growth. Stay focused only on what is most important. A great example of this is the newspaper. Laura says there are less than 25% of the people receiving the paper today than when she began delivering 40 years ago. News today is generally gathered from the Internet or other sources. This is why websites become doubly important for an organization to provide up to date information for potential guest and members. The inevitability of change is something we as individuals and as a church must learn to embrace. There are core beliefs that we will not compromise on, but how we enter the dialogue with the world around us must change. Change really should be commonplace in the life of the church. God is the constant, nothing else. Churches change but, God does not. It will be hard initially, but it is the difference between life and death in any organization. Churches are not excluded from this. So, now we will pray earnestly as body, for God to guide and direct our ways. We pray for the church to grow as God wants it to and to open our eyes to the needs within our community. This past Sunday we also reached the 100 mark in worship again. To God I give thanks that He is leading our church to be more consistent attending worship and He continues to bring guests our way to discover this great Church family that is Richland Hills Christian Church. May God bless you abundantly this week, SERMON TITLE: Lessons Learned --Pastor Paul SCRIPTURE READINGS: Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Proverbs 1:8-9

They can order shirts at an additional cost if you are interested. It takes about 1 week to get a shirt embroidered. T-shirts will be available soon!

FUN AT THE RANGER GAME AND CONCERT Thank You Note: My sincere thanks for the hearing aids that the church provided for those of us that are hearing impaired.
